HTC’s ‘Double Exposure’ Event: Here’s What You Can Expect

There's no question that the HTC One (M8) is one of the best premium handsets around, but competition is a lot stiffer these days, especially, after the arrival of a bigger screen iPhone 6.

 

HTC's One (M8) has been a successful device. It has a great camera; however, some critics intend a different option. Well HTC is hosting an event in the U.S on October 8, where the company may launch the HTC One M8 Eye - its next-generation flagship smartphone.

There has been a lot of buzz about HTC launching a new handset called the HTC One M8 Eye with a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera. Now, it seems that HTC is trying to open up, as they have just confirmed that a new handset would be a part of October 8 unveiling, all thanks to a recent tweet by HTC USA.

The tweet shows a photo (pictured above) alongside with a caption that reads, ""Don't adjust your screen. Just focus on the date." All this indicate that HTC will likely to showcase something related to camera/photo-centric.

The HTC One (M8) make is also expected to show a rugged Action camera at the event, while the Nexus 9 could be a crowd puller if it gets launched on October 8.

While we're not 100 % sure of what every announcement will hold, the rumor mill has provided strong guidance in educated guesses. Here's what you can expect from HTC's "Double-Exposure" event.

Other than the One M8 Eye, HTC is reportedly planning to launch a new camera-focused smartphone, the Desire Eye. In fact, both the Desire Eye and One M8 Eye are rumored to sport 13MP front and rear cameras. According to latest speculations, both these devices have appeared in India. Import data reveals a Rs. 21,500 price tag for the 5.2-inch dual-SIM HTC Desire Eye and a slightly more premium Rs. 27,035 for the 5-inch single-SIM HTC One M8 EYE.

HTC could launch a new camera accessory for smartphones at its October 8 event. According to a report published in Bloomberg, the device maker is expected to launch a smartphone camera accessory, similar to Sony's QX range of smartphone lenses. HTC's upcoming smartphone camera attachment will be waterproof and rugged in nature. It will apparently feature a 16-megapixel sensor, a wide-angle lens and Bluetooth connectivity. The report described the rugged camera as "tube-shaped" and it's going to be supported by the HTC-made iOS and Android apps.

Yes indeed, HTC may unveil a standalone action camera. The company recently posted a teaser video that indirectly hints a GoPro-rival device for Oct 8. Though, HTC doesn't reveal the device in the video but we think the company might unveil a waterproof action camera tomorrow.

HTC is back this year with possibly another big announcement. According to rumors, HTC would launch the much-awaited 8.9-inch Nexus 9 Tablet, running on Android L update. Rumored hardware internals include an 8.9-inch 2K resolution display, Nvidia's Tegra K1 Denver processor, 5GB RAM, 16/32GB of native storage, microSD card support, 8MP camera, 3MP front-facing shooter and 4G LTE connectivity.
