HTC Salsa Vs LG Optimus Black Head To Head Comparison
2G - GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900
3G - HSDPA 900 / 1700 / 2100.
Optimus Black is the giant measuring up to 122 x 64 x 9.2 mm in dimensions while the Salsa is just 109.1 x 58.9 x 12.3 mm. Although a giant, LG Optimus Black is lighter with about 109 grams weight while the HTC Salsa weighs 120 grams. Optimus Black has a sleek IPS LCD capacitive 4 inch touchscreen with 480 x 800 pixels screen size. HTC Salsa has a smaller but more attractive 3.4 inch TFT touchscreen of 320 x 480 pixels resolution. The handsets share features like Gorilla Glass display, Accelerometers and Proximity sensors. The HTC user interface is good but the Optimus Black's v2.0 Optimus UI is better and the UI is a combination of Gesture v2.0 UI as well.
Common 3.5 mm audio jacks are obvious features. But the Optimus alerts are comparatively more audible even though the Salsa has pretty decent sound quality. GPRS and EDGE compatibility is a great asset for the Salsa and Optimus Black but both connections are faster and more reliable in the Salsa. The HTC Salsa and the Optimus Black offers same download speed of 7.2 Mbps in 3G networks but the uploads are faster in the latter which offers up to 5.76 Mbps while the Salsa gives only 384 Kbps.
They offer similar picture quality with their 5 megapixel cameras offering up to 2592 x 1944 pixels resolution and shares similar camera features like geo tagging, face detection, etc. But Optimus Black is capable of awesome 720 pixel video shoot while Salsa is not. Video conferencing is facilitated by both handsets but the Optimus Black would be apt with their 2 megapixel rear camera. On the other hand the Salsa equips only a VGA rear camera.
Operating on Salsa does pretty cool as it has the Android v2.3 Gingerbread OS while Optimus Black, although possessing dominant features, comes with the v2.2 Android Froyo OS. Performance wise, Optimus Black reigns over Salsa with Cortex-A8 processor having 1 GHz frequency and PowerVR SGX530 GPU. Salsa is still fast with its 800 MHz processor and Adreno 205 GPU, but not fast enough to beat the Optimus. Salsa and the Optimus Black have equally amazing media player supporting multiple formats and also feature A-GPS supports.
Salsa is available in Black, Silver and Lilac colours. But there also Optimus Black offers more, as it comes in Black, Pink, Silver, White and Brown. The Salsa has more battery efficiency with the 1520 mAh battery and the Optimus Black comes close with the 1500 mAh Li ion battery. HTC Salsa's price in India is approximately Rs 15,000/- while LG Optimus Black, with all its cool features, has an expensive price in India of about Rs 19,500/-.
