HTC Titan Vs HTC Omega Head To Head Comparison
HTC, the World renowned Taiwanese Company, has announced that they are going to launch a Windows phone Mango based Smartphone named HTC Titan and another enhanced Smart phone will soon follow it developed and manufactured by HTC itself and christened as HTC Omega running in Windows 7 Phone Mango operating system.

HTC Titan is available only in the Carbon Gray colour while HTC Omega offers two varieties of colours - Active white and metallic silver. The form factor of both these phones is Candy bar. Both of them support 2G and 3G networks of HSDPA/UMTS 900, 2100 MHz and GSM 850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz frequencies. Of these two phones, the HTC Titan is the giant with dimensions 130.6 x 70.6 x 9.9 mm and weighing about 170 grams while Omega weighs only 137 grams and is apt for those who prefer lightweight phones, but has smaller dimensions of 120.5 x 61.5 x 10.9 mm. HTC Titan has a very big 4.7 inch screen while Omega sports only a 3.8 inch screen but both are Super LCD Capacitive 16M colour touchscreen of 800 x 480 pixels screen size.

 

HTC Titan and Omega also share the same user interface with inputs like Multi-touch, Gyrometer, G-sensor, Accelerometer sensor for UI auto rotate, automatic turn on/off proximity sensors and pinch to zoom controls. They both runs in the same Windows phone 7.5 Mango version Operating system. But the difference lies in the clock speed of the processors even though the processors are also same.

 

Both the new mobile handsets are powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8255 processors making them both amazing performers. But Titan's processor has 1.5 GHz clock speed while that of the Omega is just 1 GHz, which makes a big difference. RAM is 512 MB for both. Titan and the Omega doesn't have micro SD card slots, but is bundled with 16 GB and 8 GB internal storage capacities.

If you require a Smartphone from either of the above with good cameras, then Titan would suit your needs with its 8 Megapixel 3264 x 2448 pixel resolution front cameras with Auto focus, LED flash and Geo tagging facilities and capable of recording 720p HD resolution videos. Omega, on the other hand, also has the 720p video recording feature but with a 5 Megapixel 2560 x 1920 pixel resolution front camera including all features of that of Titan. The rear camera of Titan is of 1.3 Megapixels while that of Omega is only 0.3 Megapixels VGA. Both the Smartphones are equipped with 2.1 A2DP version Bluetooth v2.0 micro USB ports.

The media player with 5.1 surround sound (SRS) in both new mobile phones support media formats like MP3, WMA, M4A (Apple lossless), M4B (audio) & MPEG4, WMV, 3GP, 3G2 (video). Titan is loaded with HTML browser while Omega owns this category with HTML, XHTML browsers. But in the case of 3G performance, Titan supports 14.4 Mbps download speed and Omega can barely make it up to 7.2 Mbps for the same. Applications are also common in these two.

Also known as HTC Radar, HTC Omega is expected at Rs 30,000 approximately. HTC Titan who apparently dominated in the specifications has also dominated in the price as well with Rs 40,000 and may be more. Prices in India are not revealed yet officially.
