Facebook's CEO Mark Zuckerberg is trying hard to convince mobile vendors to make social phones. Well, nowadays even a feature phone comes loaded with in-built Facebook and Twitter applications. Apparently, it is reported that HTC is the chosen one, who is set to unveil Facebook branded smartphone this year.
In 2011, HTC along with AT&T (US carrier), the Taiwanese manufacturer launched two social phones - HTC ChaCha and Salsa. Although, they aren't exactly Facebook phone.
Last year, it was reported that HTC is one again planning to make Facebook phone dubbed as ‘Buffy. It is also being said that on the directions of Mark Zuckerberg, the team is building a secret OS, that will power HTC Buffy. Now fresh rumor indicates alleged specifications of so-called HTC Facebook phone.
UnwiredView has published a sizzling report which directly talks about HTC Myst - Facebook Phone. It is not known yet whether HTC Buffy and HTC Myst are the names of two separate Facebook phones or not. Only time will tell.
This time around, it is most likely clear that HTC is indeed working on a social phone. Currently dubbed as HTC Myst: the social phone is set to bring a new kind of social features that will powered by social networking giant - Facebook . As reported by Unwired View, the HTC Myst will have a 4.3-inch 720p HD display (330ppi), 1GB of RAM, 16GB of ROM( fixed storage), 1.5GHz dual core processor MSM 8960 , a 5-mega pixel rear camera and 1.6-mega pixel front facing camera , 4G LTE , 3G, Wi-Fi and Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean.
One cannot say whether the camera technology used in the HTC Myst supports Ultrapixel imaging technology. Last week it was reported that the Taiwan based mobile vendor may like to port ‘Ultrapixel' technology into mid-level handsets.
As of now, one has to solace our minds with the above mentioned specifications. Nothing can be said about the design of the so called - Facebook phone. Going by the specifications of the HTC Myst, it is very much mid-level handset. If Facebook succeed in bringing HTC manufactured social phone then one could see Google branded Google + device shortly. Stay tuned to GizBot.
