Huawei isn't the only Chinese smartphone maker looking beyond its home market. The China-based company is slowly and gradually making its way into Indian market. To make sure that the brand gets noticed locally, Huawei recently launched three handsets in the country.

And today, Huawei Ascend G6 is now officially made available in India at a price point of Rs. 16,999 via official online store. The makers originally announced the Ascend G6 at this year's Mobile World Congress (MWC).

Huawei Ascend G6 Now Available Online at Rs 16,999

The Huawei Ascend G6 is globally available in Black, Blue, Gold, Pink and White colors; however, currently you can buy the phone in Black color.

Talking about its specs, the Ascend P6 features a 4.5-inch qHD display with a resolution of 960 x 540 pixels (245ppi). It is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core processor coupled with 1GB of RAM and 4GB of internal memory, which can be later expanded up to 32GB via a microSD card slot.

The device runs on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean out-of-the-box with Huawei's Emotion 2.0 UI slapped on top. The handset measures 7.85mm in terms of thickness and weighs 115grams.

On the imaging front, there's an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera with Auto Focus, and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. The Ascend G6 packs a 2,000mAh battery fitted inside. Other connectivity options include: Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPRS/ A-GPS, 3G, FM Radio, among others.

Huawei Ascend G6 - Competition

Huawei's newest Ascend G6 has been made available in India. But with a Rs. 16,999 asking, will you buy the new Ascend G6? The handset comes with an underwhelming hardware; the display is only qHD which is a bit of a disappointment and leaves it falling a little short of its rival equivalents. At a price of Rs. 16,999, we'd like to recommend the Alcatel OneTouch Idol X+. It is so far the best handset available in India with a 5-inch FHD display, plus it comes bundled with free JBL headphones and BoomBand fitness tracker.
