Huawei Ascend G600 vs Spice Stellar Virtuoso: Newly Launched 4.5 Inch Handsets Quarrel for Control
Technology and the people powering technology seem to be running twice as fast as they can with an intention of getting to someplace new. With the onset of 2013, and the close end of 2012, smartphone arena has also witnessed significant changes, out the which the most quintessential one was the evolution of the trend-setting Phablet category. Moreover, with its entry into the Indian market, it is sure to kickstart a tough competition for all the mid-range offerings in the country.
At the same time, Spice, an India based handset vendor with a good depth of penetration into the Android smartphone segment of the country has recently launched a dual SIM 4.5 inch smartphone - Stellar Virtuoso Mi9-495 at RS 10,499. With this price tag, the Spice offering can be undoubtedly claimed as a budget offering with pretty decent specifications.
Hence, for those consumers looking to upgrade to a large screen handset with impressive specifications and wallet friendly price tags, below is a comparison on the two new launches - Huawei Ascend G600 and Spice Stellar Virtuoso Mi-495.
Dimensions & Weight: The Huawei handset carries a dimension of 134 x 67.5 x 10.5 mm and weighs in around 145 grams, while slightly thinner and heavier Spice handset measures 134 x 68 x 9.4 mm and weighs in at 150 grams.
Display: Both the handsets fare the same in this segment with 4.5 inch qHD IPS capacitive touchscreen displays.
Processor: In this segment, Ascend G600 scores more weightage with a faster 1.2GHz dual core processor as compared to the 1GHz dual core processor in Stellar Virtuoso.
Operating System: Again, both the smartphones head against one another as they are flavored with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS.
Camera: When it comes to camera optics, both the handsets sport an 8MP rear camera, however, Stellar Virtuoso has a better 1.3MP front camera as compared to the 0.3MP front camera in Ascend G600.
Storage: Both the handsets come with 4GB internal storage and a micro SD card slot supporting up to 32GB additional storage.
Connectivity: In terms of data connectivity, Ascend G600 and Stellar Virtuoso come packed with features including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and micro USB 2.0.
Battery: Ascend G600 is powered by a 1,930 mAh battery and Stellar Virtuoso is loaded with a 1,700 mAh battery.
Price: Ascend G600 and Stellar Virtuoso are priced at Rs 14,990 and Rs 10,499 respectively.
Verdict
Though launched by different manufacturers, both Ascend G600 and Stellar Virtuoso are loaded with similar specifications.
If the concern is on a faster processor and improved battery backup, the Huawei offering should be the right one.
On the other hand, if the concern is on dual SIM support, better front camera for video calling and lesser price tag, Stellar Virtuoso could be a better option.
