Huawei Ascend Mate 6.1: Monster Phablet Launched in India at Rs 28,990
The Huawei Ascend Mate 6.1 has finally arrived in the Indian market. This large sized phablet was recognized as Huawei's best handset till date at CES 2013.
GizBot was trying to make contact with the marketing head of Huawei India for a very long time, but the executive wished to keep mum on the forthcoming launches. Now it is learnt that online shopping site Flipkart is selling the device for Rs. 28,990. Currently the phone is "out of stock" from Flipkart's inventory. The handset is yet to be launched officially by Huawei India.

The Huawei Ascend Mate 6.1, is a large sized phablet with eye catching 6.1-inch 720p HD display. It has built in 1.5 GHz quad-core processor coupled with 2GB of RAM and 8GB ROM (expanded via microSD cards). In the imaging department, an 8-mega pixel rear facing camera along with VGA quality front facing camera comes standard. It has a huge 4,050mAh battery fitted inside. It phone runs on Android Jelly Bean OS. It is not confirmed whether the Ascend Mate 6.1 supports Android 4.2 Jelly Bean or not. In the connectivity department, you will see 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, A-GPS, amongst other features.
Today, the Indian market is flooded with plenty of large sized handsets. Samsung, the world's largest maker of mobile phones, currently offers two giant handsets. The Galaxy Mega 6.3 and Galaxy Mega 5.8 from Samsung are competent enough to take on Huawei Ascend Mate 6.1. While, some Indian tech vendors have already launched their jumbo sized phones few months back.
The MTV Swipe Volt comes with a 6 -inch display having resolution of 854 x 480 pixels MediaTek powered , 1GHz dual core , an 8-mega pixel rear facing camera, VGA quality front camera , 4GB 512MB RAM and 4GB of ROM ( expandable via micro SD cards) , 3G, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, USB 2.0, and a 3,200 mAh Li-Po battery fitted inside.
