After being first showcased at the Consumer Electronic Show (CES) 2013, Ascend Mate will now come to India soon.

There is a vast number of devices in the current Indian market and to succeed, the device must actually have the best of the specs and a reasonable price. One reason why Micromax and Karbonn are popular in India is because they adhere to this "mantra".

Huawei has already rendered its best tablets before like Huawei MediaPad 7 Lite and Huawei MediaPad 10 Link and yet again it has brought another sleek looking 6 inch phablet in India.

Talking about the specs the Huawei Ascend Mate boasts of a 6.1-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 720x1280 pixels and 241 ppi pixel density. The Huge phablet is also protected by a corning Gorilla Glass. The Ascend Mate comes with a quad-core 1.5GHz Hi-Silicon K3V2 + Intel XMM6260 processor with 2GB RAM and a Huawei K3V2 chipset. The smartphone runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). It has 8-megapixel auto focus shooter at the rear and a 1-megapixel front camera for capturing self-images and video chat. Connectivity options include 2G, 3G, GPRS, EDGE, WLAN, WiFi, Bluetooth and USB. The phablet has a 8GB ROM which is expandable via microSD cards. The 6 inch phablet is powered by 4,050 mAh battery.

Now it is learnt that online shopping site Flipkart is selling the device for Rs. 28,990. The phone is "out of stock" from Flipkart's inventory. It is currently available on Infibeam at Rs. 28,900.

At the current stage, considering only the latest phablets, Huawei Ascend Mate is likely to compete head on with recently launched Samsung Mega 5.8 and Mega 6.3. Other possible rivals to the newly launched phablet are Swipe MTV Volt, Byond Phablet P3, Micromax Canvas HD A116 Phablet.

Here, GizBot has lined up a series of five phablets that would rival against Ascend Mate.
