Huawei Ascend P6 Goes Official: 5 Quad Core Competitors Which May Face The Heat

Huawei Ascend P6 had made quite an impression before it was officially unveiled. Measuring 6.18mm thin, this sexy and sleek looking newbie has now created a tumultuous stature in the tech world as it just went official. The rumors that had previously speculated Hauwei Ascend P6's specs and designs and a live pictures had almost made most of the fans go wild out of the curiosity. But, now it's time to enjoy the beauty of the real Ascent P6 along with its utter elegance and pride.
Without talking much about its background, here is a brief recap on the specifications of the Huawei Ascend P6.

Huawei's latest slim innovation Ascend P6 comes with a display of 4.7-inch with 720p in-cell LCD and is powered by Huawei's home-brewed K3V2 chipset. The same SoC powers the Ascend Mate, Ascend P2 and Ascend D2 with its quad-core 1.5GHz Cortex-A9 processor and 2GB RAM. Huawei Ascend P6 runs on the latest Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean Operating System with Huawei's Emotion UI on top of it.

Not to mention the key feature of Huawei Ascend P6 which is its extremely slim profile measuring just 6.18mm. According to the company that's enough to guarantee it the world's slimmest smartphone title. The Ascend P6 is also quite light at 120 grams. Ascend P6 sports an 8MP primary camera (BSI, F2.0) with 1080p video recording and a premium 5MP front facing snapper for video chats and self-portraits.

The long awaited Ascend P6 houses an 8GB internal storage capacity that can be expandable up to 32 GB via microSD. The connectivity options of the Huawei Ascend P6 may lack LTE support, but has covered most other bases. The Ascend P6 comes with dual-SIM with dual stand-by support by default, HSPA, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and FM radio are supported. The device is powered by a 2000 mAh battery.

Reportedly the Huawei Ascend P6 is said to hit the Chinese market soon by this month, while Western Europe will be getting it in July. Reportedly it was also said that the partners like Vodafone, Telefonica, Orange, H3G, O2, Carphone Warehouse, TalkTalk, Media Markt, Saturn, TIM as well as online retailers Amazon and CDiscount already confirmed as well.

The Ascend P6 looks like a powerful mid-range smartphone with an elegant design. However, there are no information regarding the price of the device as of now.

Looking at the specs, the Ascend P6 is likely to have a battle against, Nexus 4, Sony Xperia ZR, Samsung Galaxy S3, HTC One X and a reletavely lower range device called Xolo Q800. Here is a brief rundown on the specs of the aforementioned 5 potential rivals of Ascend P6.

Nexus 4 from LG sports a 4.7 inch full HD display and offers a resolution of 1280 x 768 Pixels and features Gorilla Glass encased screen. The Google edition of the LG device is powered by a 1.5 GHz quad core Snapdragon S4 Pro Quad Core Processor along with Adreno 320 GPU. The Nexus 4 runs on the latest Android 4.2 JellyBean Operating System and is also supported by a 2 GB RAM. Nexus 4 sports an 8 MP camera which is capable of full HD video recording at 30fps and also boasts a 1.3 MP camera in the front, to aid video chatting.
Connectivity options include Android Beam connectivity, whereby two NFC enabled Android devices can share photos, data, links and more simply by tapping them with their backs facing one another. Other connectivity options include GPRS, 3G, WiFi, EDGE, USB and Bluetooth. It is powered by a lithium ion 2100 mAh battery with a talktime of upto 11 hours.

The Nexus 4 has pretty much the same features that that of Ascend P6. In fact Nexus 4 fails to compete with the 5 MP front facing Camera of Ascent P6. The Nexus 4 is priced at Rs. 25,990 on Flipkart.

In terms of specifications, the Xperia ZR comes with a 4.6 inch super-sharp HD Reality Display powered by Mobile BRAVIA Engine 2 and has a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels, 1.5 GHz quad-core Qualcomm S4 Pro chipset, Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system and hence, it will have features including Photo Sphere, Gesture Typing, Miracast, Day Dream and more. Further, Xperia ZR has a 13MP Exmor RS camera with LED flash and a VGA front camera for video calling, it comes with 8GB internal storage, micro SD card slot supporting up to 32GB additional storage and 2GB RAM. Moreover, the handset is packed with 4G, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, 3G and NFC connectivity features and is powered by 2300mAh battery.
Priced at Rs. 29,899 on Flipkart, the Xperia ZR also has a very much similar specs. However, the Xperia ZR has a better rear camera and LTE support and fails to compete with the Ascend P6 front camera.

Samsung Galaxy S3

Priced at Rs. 27,500 on Flipkart, Galaxy S3 sports a 4.8 inch HD super Amoled display protected by the Corning Gorilla Glass 2. This phone supports a display resolution of 1280 by 720 pixels. The Galaxy S3 runs on Android 4.0 Ice cream sandwich operating system, and now has been upgraded to Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean operating system. It is powered by the Exynos 4412 Quad-Core 1.4 GHz Cortex-A9 and Mali 400 graphics processor unit, supported by a 1 GB RAM. The phone comes in two storage options of 16 GB and 32 GB and sports a primary camera of 8 megapixel and a secondary camera of 1.9 megapixel. The Android smartphone is enabled with GPRS, EDGE and 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, micro USB port for connectivity. The device is powered by a 2100 mAh Li-Ion battery.
The Galaxy S3 comes with a lower Processor, RAM and front camera, if compare to Ascend P6.

The One X features the HTC Sense user interface and sports a 4.7-inch Super LCD 2 capacitive full HD touchscreen that offers 720 x 1280 pixel resolution with 16 M colours offering vivid display.
The device sports an 8 megapixel rear camera with LED flash with the ability of 1080 x 1920 pixel HD video recording at 30 fps. Camera features include auto focus, BSI sensor, Geo-tagging and face and smile detection. The One X also has a 1.3 megapixel secondary camera as well.
HTC One X comes with Beats Audio sound enhancement feature. And features a corning gorilla glass used for the touchscreen is durable and scratch-resistant. The HTC smartphone houses an internal memory of 16 GB and 1 GB RAM. Powered by a 1800 mAh Li-Po battery the One X is enabled with GPRS, EDGE and 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, micro USB port, HDMI port, TV Out Port.
The device is priced at Rs. 25,999 on Flipkart. Compared to Ascend P6, HTC One X features a lesser RAM and an older version of Android OS and a lesser MP front camera.

Priced at Rs. 10,999 on Flipkart, Xolo Q800 comes with a 4.5-inch IPS capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 960 x 540 pixels, 1.2GHz quad-core processor, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, 8MP rear camera with LED flash and BSI sensor, 1.2MP front camera for video calling, 1GB RAM, 4GB internal memory, 32GB expandable memory with a micro SD card slot, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and a 2,100 mAh battery.
The budget device has a lesser processor, RAM and fails to compete with the Ascend P6.
