Huawei Ascend P6 Officially Launched in India at Rs 29,999: Top 5 Rivals
Huawei's Ascend P6 finally got launched officially in India today at Rs. 29,999. The device which was announced back in June and went on sale with Indian e-commerce wesbsites earlier this week.
Going by the specs, the handset comes packed with a 4.7-inch display based on in-cell LCD screen technology with responsive touch that works even while wearing gloves. It comes with a screen resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels and pixel density of 312 ppi.
It is powered by a 1.5 GHz quad-core processor and features a Huawei K3V2 chipset coupled with 2GB RAM. It runs on Android 4.2.2 (Jelly Bean) OS along with a new Emotion UI.
Moving on to the imaging technology, it has an 8-megapixel rear camera with BSI sensor, F2.0 aperture and 4cm macro and 1080P full HD video recording and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera.
The device also houses 8GB of internal storage capacity which can be further expanded up to 32GB via microSD card.
Huawei Ascend P6 comes with a regular set of connectivity options like 3G HSPA+, dualband WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS.
Also considered as one of the slimmest phone measuring 6.18 mm thick, it weighs 120 grams and draws its energy from a Li-Po 2000 mAh battery capable of offering up to 416 hours (2G) and up to 315 hours (3G) of standby time and up to 28 hours (2G) and up to 14 hours (3G) of talktime.
The Huawei Ascend P6 comes in black and white color variants with matching color cases.
Talking about the features, the smartphone comes with a multi-screen AirSharing capability, panoramic shoot, enhanced Easy Panel with profile selection and packs a battery with Automated Discontinuous Reception (ADRX) and Quick Power Control (QPC) battery optimization and power saving technology similar to the Ascend Mate.
Looking at the specs of the handset, the newly launched Micromax Canvas Turbo will be its direct competitor. Apart from that, Nexus 4, Sony Xperia ZR, Samsung Galaxy S3, HTC One X would also be a tough rival for Huawei Ascend P6.

Micromax Canvas Turbo
It comes with a 5.0-inch CGS IPS display offering a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. The latest Canvas Turbo runs on Android 4.2.1 (Jelly Bean) OS and is powered by a 1.5 GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6589T processor coupled with 2GB of RAM. Talking about the imaging technology, users will find a 13-megapixel auto focus rear camera with LED Flash and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera which we have already seen in the Canvas 4. The rear camera is also capable of recording video at full HD resolution. There is a regular connectivity options which includes 3G HSPA+, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, aGPS. Apart from that, the handset also has a Dual SIM (GSM + WCDMA) support with Dual Standby (One standard SIM and one Micro-SIM). It houses 16 GB of internal storage capacity of which only 12.47 GB is user accessible and it comes with a full aluminum casing. The latest phablet which measures 8.66mm thick draws its energy from a 2000 mAh battery.
LG Nexus 4
LG Nexus 4 sports a 4.7 inch full HD display and offers a resolution of 1280 x 768 Pixels and features Gorilla Glass encased screen. The Google edition of the LG device is powered by a 1.5 GHz quad core Snapdragon S4 Pro Quad Core Processor along with Adreno 320 GPU. The Nexus 4 runs on the latest Android 4.3 JellyBean Operating System and is also supported by a 2 GB RAM. It comes with an 8 MP camera which is capable of full HD video recording at 30fps and also boasts a 1.3 MP camera in the front, to aid video chatting. Connectivity options include Android Beam connectivity, whereby two NFC enabled Android devices can share photos, data, links and more simply by tapping them with their backs facing one another. Other connectivity options include GPRS, 3G, WiFi, EDGE, USB and Bluetooth. It is powered by a lithium ion 2100 mAh battery with a talktime of upto 11 hours.
Sony Xperia ZR
The Xperia ZR comes with a 4.6 inch super-sharp HD Reality Display powered by Mobile BRAVIA Engine 2 and has a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels, 1.5 GHz quad-core Qualcomm S4 Pro chipset, Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system and hence, it will have features including Photo Sphere, Gesture Typing, Miracast, Day Dream and more. Further, Xperia ZR has a 13MP Exmor RS camera with LED flash and a VGA front camera for video calling, it comes with 8GB internal storage, micro SD card slot supporting up to 32GB additional storage and 2GB RAM. Moreover, the handset is packed with 4G, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, 3G and NFC connectivity features and is powered by 2300mAh battery.
HTC One X
The One X features the HTC Sense user interface and sports a 4.7-inch Super LCD 2 capacitive full HD touchscreen offering 720 x 1280 pixel resolution. It is powered by a 1.5 GHz Quad Core processor and runs on Android v4.0 os. The device sports an 8 megapixel rear camera with LED flash with the ability of 1080 x 1920 pixel HD video recording at 30 fps. Camera features include auto focus, BSI sensor, Geo-tagging and face and smile detection. The One X also has a 1.3 megapixel secondary camera as well. HTC One X comes with Beats Audio sound enhancement feature. And features a corning gorilla glass used for the touchscreen is durable and scratch-resistant. The HTC smartphone houses an internal memory of 16 GB and 1 GB RAM. Powered by a 1800 mAh Li-Po battery the One X is enabled with GPRS, EDGE and 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, micro USB port, HDMI port, TV Out Port.
Samsung Galaxy S3
The Galaxy S3 sports a 4.8 inch HD super Amoled display protected by the Corning Gorilla Glass 2 and features a resolution of 1280 by 720 pixels. It runs on Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean operating system. It is powered by the Exynos 4412 Quad-Core 1.4 GHz Cortex-A9 and Mali 400 graphics processor unit, supported by a 1 GB RAM. The phone comes in two storage options of 16 GB and 32 GB and sports a primary camera of 8 megapixel and a secondary camera of 1.9 megapixel. The Android smartphone is enabled with GPRS, EDGE and 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, micro USB port for connectivity. The device is powered by a 2100 mAh Li-Ion battery.
