Huawei, a Chinese smartphone maker which surprised the Android smartphone users by offering its best devices including the Ascend P6 that was launched last year. The company's Ascend P7 has been leaked couple of times in the past and is already said to be launched later on May 7. On the other hand, Huawei has already announced the downsized variant of the Ascend P7 with the mini tag behind its original name. Obviously, it did come as a surprise and with the original variant yet to be announced, the company actually made a covert announcement in a soft volume.

However, the device was not at all a secret to many smartphone users and Huawei fans around the world as the rumors about the device had already been swirling since a couple of months.

Talking about the specs of the latest Huawei Ascend P7 Mini smartphone, it comes with a 4.5-inch qHD TFT display offering a resolution of 940x 540 pixels. The original variant of the handset is reportedly said to come with a 5-inch 1080p display.

It is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 400 quad-core processor ticking at 1.2GHz and Adreno 305 graphics, coupled with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage. The phone also include a microSD card support. It runs on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean wrapped under Huawei's Emotion UI.

The phone sports an 8-megapixel rear camera with auto-focus and flash and a 5-meagpixel front facing camera.

Connectivity options in the phone include NFC, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS/AGPS. Huawei's website also unveils that the new device will feature LTE connectivity, as well as with 3G (HSDPA+: 21.6 Mbps, HSUPA: 5.76 Mbps) capabilities.

The device is powered by 2,000mAh battery that can deliver up to 12 hours of talk time or up to 370 hours of standby time.

Huawei has not yet disclosed the price of the handset as of now, and no information has appeared online regarding the launch date of the same in India.
