The Ascend P7 is now an old chapter. All attention may now on the forthcoming Ascend P8, the successor to the Ascend P7. The next-generation smartphone under its P-series, is set for a London launch on April 15.

As reports revealed last week, Huawei will not be unveiling any new fancy smartphone at the annual Mobile World Congress (MWC) in early march of this year. Instead, the company will hold a separate event in London to showcase the P8. The tech giant from China previously unveiled the P6 in London in 2013 and last year showcased the P7 in Paris.

Huawei has a successful track record in China, but it is slowly and gradually making its way to conquer the international market. Believe it or not, Huawei sold close to 75 million smartphones in 2014. The firm now aims to sell as many as 100 million smartphones this fiscal year.

Huawei Ascend P8 Will Ship With 5.2Inch FHD Display

The Ascend P8 will come with a 5.2-inch FHD screen. The Ascend P8 will boast a 5.2-inch HD display, according to PocketDroid.

According to a report, Huawei doesn't plan to use 4K displays in its smartphones any time soon, mainly due to battery life issues. Thus, it is safe to say that Huawei's upcoming flagship smartphone, the P8, won't come with a 2K or 4K display.

Leaked Metal Body Photos

Alleged images have emerged (via GSM Arena) that supposedly showcase the Ascend P8's rumoured unibody design. Basically it follows the design language of its predecessor. The new handset will have rounded edges and side bezels have been kept to a minimum.

Another report, on the other hand, claimed that the P8 will come with a unibody design that's crafted out of zirconium oxide porcelain. The phone is expected to come with glass on both the front and the back, with the front probably being a layer of Corning's Gorilla Glass 3.

Huawei Ascend P8 To Feature Kirin 930 64-bit chipset

If rumours have anything to go by, the Ascend P8 might boast a 16nm HiSilicon Kirin 930 CPU and 3GB of RAM, the first chipset to use this technology. Battery capacity will be 2,600mAh. Unfortunately, there's no update about dual-cameras.

Huawei Ascend P8 To Cost $480

Information on potential pricing is scant but, as a guide, the Huawei Ascend P8 might cost $480 (approximately Rs. 30,240). Previous rumours in the past have suggested that the device could be priced around Rs. 35,000.

Huawei Ascend P8 To Launch on April 15

Huawei has traditionally launched its new phones at or slightly around Mobile World Congress (MWC) in March. However, the Ascend P8 will be launched in London on April 15, according to Huawei.
