Huawei C199S Mid-End Smartphone With 64-bit Octa-Core CPU, 5.5 Inch HD Display Launched
While everyone is waiting for Huawei to announce its upcoming flagship smartphone of the year, Ascend P8, there are some people who are waiting for an affordable metallic handset with loud spec sheet.
It looks like buyers, at least, in China can look forward to the Huawei C199S, a mid-end metallic smartphone that's up for sale at CNY 2,299 (approximately Rs. 22,600).

Huawei on Tuesday launched its new mid-end handset with a 64-it chipset. The so-called Huawei C199S is the sequel to last year's metal-clad C199. Even though you may get to see upgraded specs, it still offers the same design and build.
As far as its specs and features are concerned, the Huawei C199S features a a 5.5-inch HD (720x1280 pixels) IPS display. It is also powered by a 64-bit octa-core Snapdragon 615 (MSM8928) processor clocked at 1.5GHz, paired with 2GB of RAM, 16GB of native storage and an expandable storage (up to 32GB).
In the imaging department, the phone has the 13MP rear-facing camera, and a 5-megapixel front-facing shooter. The makers have added a 3000mAh battery, which is rated to deliver a dual-SIM standby time of up to 200 hours. Notably, the phone offers 4G LTE connectivity. The device runs EMUI 3.0 UI on top of Android 4.4 KitKat.
While the company has already started to sell the device in its home market, there is no information as yet of it being released in other Asian markets, including India, for that matter.
It's been hard to ignore Huawei's stupendous growth over the past few months. The tech giant recently revealed that Huawei saw annual revenue of 11.8 billion in 2014. In fact, the firm sold 75 million smartphones in 2014.
In coming days to come, Huawei is going to unveil the Ascend P8, the next-generation flagship device, in London. The official unveiling will take place on April 15.
