The Google’s Android v2.2 Froyo operates Huawei Gaga which has a nice 2.8 inch capacitive full touchscreen QVGA display of 240 x 320 pixels sized screen. Considering its astonishing price tag, you would never expect Gaga to be packed with 3G features. Reportedly, Huawei Gaga U8180 also packs a decent QWERTY keypad for people who prefer typing rather than touching the screen. The Froyo gives the handset access to Android markets where the users will be able to find applications that can tweak the overall performance of Gaga for the better, although it performs impressively in the first place. Its 3.2 megapixel camera is praiseworthy for the excellent image capture quality.
Huawei Gaga features proximity sensor and gyro sensor besides the compass. It has a microUSB port and reportedly a 3.5 mm audio jack as well. Huawei Gaga U8180 supports not only 3G but also 802.11 b/g/n high speed WiFi and GPRS connectivity as well. The WAP browser enables smooth browsing and has a lot of reliable integrated options that would be required while browsing. Gaga U8180 is integrated with a reliable Bluetooth technology but it’s not confirmed whether it’s the ordinary v2.0 Bluetooth or v2.1 A2DP enabled Bluetooth technology.
The memory specifications of Huawei Gaga U8180 are not very great. Gaga has only 256 MB RAM and 512 MB Flash storage. But fortunately, the memory is extensible up to 16 GB supporting microSD cards only. The media players exceed expectation in the application interface and performance factors. Although the sound from the loudspeaker is not that loud, it is quite audible. The built in FM radio reportedly comes with FM scheduling and recording but haven’t been confirmed. Significant features which improves the internet connectivity options in Gaga are Dual band UMTS network specification and Quad Band GSM (for 3G). These features allow quick internet accesses.
Weighing about 100 grams with a measurement of 104 x 56 x 13 dimensionally, Huawei Gaga U8180 is about Rs 9,000/- in India.
