Huawei Unveils Ascend P8 & P8 Max Smartphones in Bangkok: All You Need To Know

    Chinese smartphone maker, Huawei today unveiled its latest P8 series in a premium SEA event at Bangkok. Dubbed as Ascend P8 and P8Max, it comes with premium design matching the current industrial design language with all-aluminum uni-body design, making the new handset rock solid.

    Huawei Ascend P8 is flaunts a 5.2-inch Full-HD display with a resolution of 1920x1080 pixels counting 424 ppi. The Full-HD display takes up around 78 percent of the phone's front and the power consumption has been reduced by 15 percent.

    Moving on, P8 is powered by a home baked 64-bit Octa-core Cortex-A53 Hisilicon Kirin 935 SoC, clocked with 2GHz and paired with 3GB of RAM and shipped with Android Lollipop 5.0 out of the box.

    Also, the standard 16GB version of the phone comes with Kirin 930 SoC, while the premium 64GB version houses a Kirin 935 chipset.

    Further, P8 features a 13-megapixel primary camera, with the world's first camera sensor that captures images using RGBW (Red, Green, Blue, White) pattern along with (OIS) optical image stabilization. On the front, it houses a 8-megapixel selfie clicker.

    In terms of connectivity, the P8 is equipped with the Kirin's Balong integrated LTE modem supporting up to category-6 speeds, dual-SIM, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and much more.

    This premium handset is powered by a 2680mAh battery supporting a quick charging capability and the Huawei claims that battery can last up to 3 days of regular use and 2 days on heavy usage.

    Huawei P8Max, sports a 6.8 inch FHD display with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels which is translated into 326ppi pixel density along with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 for protection.

    Further, P8Max is powered by a HiSilicon Kirin 935 Octa-Core (Quad-core 2.2 GHz Cortex-A53 & quad-core 1.5 GHz Cortex-A53) chipset with Mali-T628 MP4 GPU besides 3GB RAM under the hood.

    Powered by a 4360mAh Li-Po battery, P8Max provides of up to 16 hours for video playback, 10 hours for the Wi-Fi connection/web browsing.

    As of now, there is no official announcement on the pricing of these device and it will be available in the Indian market from next month.
