iBall Andi 3.5: Dual SIM Smartphone Launched at Rs 4499 in White and Wine Color Variants
Well, its not a secret anymore that Indian love budget smartphone offerings, and that is the reason why the market is filled with numerous handsets in the respective segment. Tech manufacturers including iBall have evolved their product basket in terms of affordable handsets and to add on to the selling point, these players launch their devices equipped with one or the other unique feature.
On Monday, the native handset vendor unveiled a new 3.5 inch dual SIM Android smartphone - Andi 3.5 bearing a reasonable price tag of Rs 4,499. Let's take a look at the specs.
Key Specs
Display: Andi 3.5 has a 3.5 inch HVGA capacitive multi-touch display with 320 x 480 pixel resolution.
Processor: The handset is powered by a 1GHz dual core Cortex A9 processor under its hood.
OS: Andi 3.5 is based on Android 2.3.6 Gingerbread OS, which is an older version of the platform.
Camera: The dual SIM handset has a 2MP rear camera and a VGA front facing camera for video calling purpose.
Storage: The internal storage capacity and RAM of Andi 3.5 is not revealed by the manufacturer, however, it is known that the handset has a micro SD card slot supporting up to 32GB additional storage.
Connectivity: The handset is packed with features including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and 2G, however, it lacks 3G connectivity.
Battery: Andi 3.5 is loaded with a 1,500 mAh battery of undisclosed backup.
Price & Availability
iBall has priced Andi 3.5 at Rs 4,499 to make it reasonable, however, it has not revealed the online availability of the handset. But the highlighted aspect of the new smartphone is that it will be available in White and a Valentines special Wine colour variant luring the Vday crowd to buy the newbie.
Competition with other Gingerbread based Wi-Fi only Smartphones
It may sound outdated to hear that a Gingerbread based Wi-Fi only (no 3G) handset is launched when the budget smartphone arena is moving forward towards Jelly Bean and several other advanced specifications. However, not only iBall, but many other companies have also come forward with such Wi-Fi only Gingerbread based smartphones in the sub Rs 4,500 price range for those who are looking for wallet friendly basic smartphones.
Recently, Lava launched Iris 351 and Spice launched Stellar Buddy 315 with similar specifications and at the same price point.
Talking about specs, Iris 351 has been spotted online on different e-commerce sites at a price of Rs 3,899. At the same time, Spice Stellar Buddy 315 flaunts a 3.2 inch capacitive touchscreen display with an unknown resolution (speculated to be 320 x 240 pixels), Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system, dual SIM support, 1GHz processor, 256MB RAM, 512MB internal storage, 2G, 3.2MP rear camera, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and a 1,400 mAh battery.
