In 2012, almost all budget tech manufacturers have been quite busy in coming up with smartphones and phablets into the price conscious Indian market. iBall, an active handset vendor based in India has also launched such smartphones into the market to stay competitive.
Recently, iBall has launched a 4.5 inch Jelly Bean smartphone - Andi 4.5q bearing a reasonable price tag of Rs 11,490. The handset has been spotted on online retailer site Infibeam.com. Moreover, it carries the credit of being the first Jelly Bean smartphone from iBall.
Andi 4.5q boasts a 4.5-inch qHD capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 960 x 540 pixels and 245 ppi pixel density, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS, 1GHz dual-core Cortex A9 processor, 512MB RAM, 4GB internal memory, micro SD card slot, 8MP rear camera, VGA front camera, Wi-Fi, 3G, Bluetooth and a 2,050 mAh battery. Interestingly, the camera on Andi 4.5q can capture 3D photos and videos, 360 degree panorama shots and multi-shot images.
By incorporating Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system in handsets that are priced in the sub Rs 15,000 range, the Indian manufacturers have brought an all new range to the budget smartphones. So far, the Indian smartphone space witnessed many dual SIM Jelly Bean handsets from companies including Micromax, Byond, Karbonn and Samsung.
Hence, by launching a Jelly Bean smartphone, iBall has entered a direct rivalry with the other companies mentioned above that have also launched similar handsets. Below is a slideshow revealing the dual SIM Jelly Bean challengers of the iBall handset.
Karbonn Smart Titanium T1
Karbonn Mobiles launched a quad core dual SIM Jelly Bean smartphone featuring a 4.5 inch qHD multi-touch capacitive touchscreen display with 960 x 540 pixel resolution, 1.2GHz quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 1GB RAM, 4GB internal storage, micro SD card slot, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS, 5MP rear camera, VGA front camera, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and a 1,600 mAh battery.
The handset is available for pre-order for a price of Rs 10,990. With a lesser price tag and better processor, the Smart Titanium T1 could be a better offering, however, Andi 4.5q comes with improved camera and better battery.
Pune Based tech firm has launched Byond B63 with a 4.5 inch 960 x 540 pixels qHD display, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, dual-core 1.2 GHz processor, 512MB RAM, 4GB in-built memory, expandable memory upto 32 GB with microSD, 8MP rear camera with autofocus, VGA front camera, 3G, WiFi, GPS and Bluetooth and 2,000 mAh battery.
With a price tag of Rs 9,999, Byond B63 might be a potential rival to iBall Andi 4.5q with similar specifications and lesser price tag.
Samsung Galaxy Grand Duos
Samsung aiming to make its presence prominent in different segments of the smartphone market has come up with its dual SIM Jelly Bean phablet - Galaxy Grand Duos.
The handset packs a 5 inch multi-touch LCD capacitive touchscreen display with a very low resolution of 480 x 800 pixels, dual core 1.2GHz processor, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS, 8MP rear camera, 2MP front camera for video calling, 8GB internal storage capacity, 1GB RAM, micro SD card slot supporting up to 64GB additional storage, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, USB, HDMI, A-GPS, DLNA and a 2,100 mAh Li-ion battery.
With a better processor, improved front camera and HDMI support, the Galaxy Grand Duos could be a tough challenger for iBall Andi 4.5q.
Micromax A116 Canvas HD
Micromax has launched its first quad core Jelly Bean phablet - A116 Canvas HD housing a 5 inch HD IPS capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels, 1.2GHz quad core MediaTek MT6589 processor, 8MP rear camera, VGA front camera for video calling, 4GB internal storage, 1GB RAM, micro SD card slot supporting up to 32GB additional storage, 3G, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth and a 2,100 mAh battery.
Estimated to be priced at Rs 14,999, the Micromax phablet with a better display and faster quad core processor could be a stiff competitor to iBall Andi 4.5q.
NXG Xfab 2 Mini
Xfab 2 Mini has a 4.7 inch IPS capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 960 x 540 pixels, 1.2GHz dual core MediaTek MT6577 processor for improved multi-tasking capabilities, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system, 12MP rear camera, 2MP front camera for video calling, 4GB onboard storage, 1GB RAM, micro SD card slot supporting up to 64GB expandable storage support, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and A-GPS. NXG Xfab 2 Mini is priced at Rs 12,490.
Priced slightly higher than iBall Andi 4.5q, NXG Xfab 2 Mini with larger display and faster processor could be a strong rival to the iBall smartphone.
