IFA 2013: The Most Alluring Smartphones Launched

The world's biggest technology carnival - IFA, now in its 50th year, has become the leading launch platform for smartphone . Although, IFA is more often known home appliance launches. With the growth witness in the "connected devices "space, IFA is now synonymous with smartphones and tablets.

IFA 2013: The Most Alluring Smartphones Launched

At this year's edition to IFA, we have seen the global debut of Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and Sony Xperia Z1. Besides smartphones, Samsung chose IFA to make its Galaxy Gear official. It's not Samsung or Sony, who seems Gaga over IFA. Take a look at Taiwanese giant Acer, the PC maker launched its most promising smartphone Liquid S2 at the IFA tech show. Chinese powerhouse Lenovo took interest at this edition of IFA by launching Vibe X. So yes, IFA has now become the preferred destination for globally renowned tech vendors to showcase latest technological marvels.

Sony Xperia Z1

The Xperia Z1 is a premium offering targeted at select consumers. The Sony Xperia Z1 has a a 5-inch Full HD display powered by Triluminos technology and X-Reality engine. It has a 2.2-GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor quad core processor coupled with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of ROM (expandable up to 64GB via a microSD card). The makers have added a 3000mAh Li Ion battery (non-removable).

Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean comes out of the box with Xperia layer on the top of it. The 20.7 MP rear facing camera is ultra- powerful with G Lens to accompany. The connectivity options include: 4G LTE, 3G, Wi-Fi, DLNA, NFC, Bluetooth 4.0 and many more tempting features. Sony could launch Xperia Z1 in India around September end at Rs. 45,500.

Samsung Galaxy Note 3

Samsung's big ticket handset - the Galaxy Note 3 has finally announced in Berlin. After months of rumor, Samsung thought it's better to launch the phone. The Note 3 is indeed a beast with gorgeous 5.7-inch Full HD display and Android 4.3 Jelly Bean out of the box. The phone is powered by a 2.3GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chipset coupled with 3GB of RAM and 16GB of ROM. Inside, a 3,200 mAh Li Ion battery is fitted.

There's a 13MP camera at the back and a 2MP camera on the front. The rear back panel is made of material that seems leather at first instance; however, it is of course better than cheap plastic cover. The handset comes with S Pen equipment. Samsung also stuffed KNOX, enterprise level security software to protect your device.

Lenovo Vibe X

Last year Lenovo tried to make buzz with K900, a 5.5-inch Full HD smartphone powered by Intel processor. To strengthen its portfolio Lenovo now launched adds Vibe X. It has a 5-inch Full HD display with scratch resistant screen protected by Gorilla Glass 3. The Vibe X packs a 1.5GHz quad-core processor (MediaTek ) coupled with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of ROM.

Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean comes out of the box. There's a 13MP rear facing camera and a 5MP front facing camera. The makers have used a 2000mAh Li Ion battery. Connectivity options include: 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS with A-GPS and more. The Vibe X could announce near Diwali at Rs. 35,000.

Acer Liquid S2

Acer Liquid S2 comes with a 6-inch IPS Full HD display. The phone also has a 2.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 (quad-core) processor coupled with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of ROM (expandable via a microSD card up to 64GB).

There's a 13MP rear facing camera with 4K video recording, Auto Focus and an LED Flashlight. Also add a 2MP front facing camera. The makers have added a 3300mAh non-removable Li Ion battery. Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean comes out of the box. Acer is not selling smartphones in India, so it would not make sense to predict its retail price in India.

Alcatel One Touch Hero

Having a connection with European market, Chinese player Alcatel announces maximum handsets at the IFA tech show. Alcatel also launched its answer to Note 3 in the form of One Touch Hero. The One Touch Hero comes with a 6-inch capacitive touch screen (IPS) display having resolution of 1920 X 1080 pixels. It packs a 1.5 GHz quad-core processor coupled with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of ROM (expandable up to 32GB via a microSD card slot).

Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean comes out of the box. Camera There's a 13MP rear camera with Auto Focus and LED Flash light. Also add a 2MP front facing camera. Both front and rear back cameras are capable of recording videos in Full HD format. Connectivity options include: 3G HSPA+, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, DLNA, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, among others. The makers have added a 3,400mAh Li Ion battery fitted inside. Alcatel is also offers accessories with One Touch Hero.

Xiaomi Mi-3

China's No. 6 ranked smartphone vendor launched Mi-3 at the IFA tech show. Xiaomi Mi-3 is the fastest smartphone in the world. It features a 5-inch IPS display having resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels at 441 ppi. The screen is protected by a Corning Gorilla glass. The phone uses a 1.8 GHz quad-core NVIDIA Tegra 4 processor with 72 core GeForce GPU (TD-SCDMA variant) and 2.3 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor with Adreno 330 GPU (CDMA2000).

The device is powered by 2GB of RAM and 16GB of ROM (expandable). There's a 13MP camera with Sony Exmor RS BSI sensor and a 2MP front facing camera with wide angle lens. The makers have added a 3050mAh Li Ion battery. Other connectivity options are standard.

Meizu MX-3

The Meizu MX-3 is special handset because the device comes with a whooping 128GB of internal memory. The phone packs a 5.1-inch IPS display having resolution of 1800×1080pixel at 415ppi. It is powered by Exynos 5410 Octa processor with 4 Cortex A7 at 1.2GHz / 4 Cortex A15 at 1.6GHz coupled with 2GB RAM.

Android 4.2 Jelly Bean comes out of the box with Flyme 3.0 layer on the top of it. The phones house an 8MP rear shooter and a 2MP front facing shooter. The makers have added a 2400mAh Li Ion battery. Other connectivity options are standard. The vendor is giving option to choose internal memory - 16/32/64/128GB.

HTC Desire 300

HTC has come up with a 4.3-inch WVGA display ducked smartphone. The device is powered by a 1GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4processor coupled with 512 MB of RAM. There's 5MP camera at the back and a VGA shooter in the front. Connectivity options include: Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and 3G are present for connectivity.

The makers have added a 1650mAh battery. The phone is powered by 4.2 Jelly Bean. Expect the device to land in India by October last week.

The device features a 4.5-inch qHD display having resolution of 540x960 pixels. The Desire 601 is powered by a 1.4GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor coupled with 1GB of RAM. There's a 5-megapixel camera at the back and a VGA camera on the front. The makers have added a 2199mAh battery inside. Connectivity options come standard. The device should launch in India around late October 2013.
