The subject of numerous leaks and countless rumours in recent weeks, the Nokia Lumia 730 has been officially launched at the IFA 2014 in Berlin. Touted to be an ideal phone for Skype and selfies, the Windows 8.1-powered device offers decent specs at an affordable price.
At the same event, Nokia also introduced the Lumia 735 - a special variant of the new Lumia 730 with 4G LTE connectivity. Notably, the Lumia 730 Dual-SIM has been listed on Nokia's official India website, which means the device could be launched soon in the country without any further delay.
To be more specific, the Lumia 730 is basically targeted at young college going students. Sticking closer to Nokia's trademark design, the new smartphone features glossy plastic. It also comes in a variety of colors: green, orange, black and white.
Nokia Lumia 730 - Features
The Nokia Lumia 730 appears to be a powerhouse, given its announced retail price. With a 1.2 GHz Snapdragon 400 quad-core processor and 1GB of RAM the phone is significantly powerful. The device also offers 8GB of native storage and a microSD card slot (up to 128GB). The phone runs on Windows Phone 8.1 mobile OS.
The Lumia 730 smartphone sports a 4.7-inch ClearBlack display with a resolution of 1280 x 720-pixels. It is powered by a fairly large 22200mAh battery fitted inside. The handset measures 8.7mm in terms of thickness and weighs-in at 130g. Other connectivity options include: Wi-Fi, 3G/2G, GPS, Nokia HERE Maps, Bluetooth, among others.
Nokia Lumia 730- Camera
The mid-end phone is stuffed with a 6.7-megapixel rear camera with Zeiss optics and a f/1.9 aperture. Let's not forget that the Lumia 730 is promoted as a "selfie" phone. Nokia says they have added a 5MP front-facing shooter with wide angle lens. Improved focal length and wider angles mean selfies should be far better compared to nearest rival devices. The firm has also added its Lumia Selfie application for capturing, editing and sharing selfie photos.
