Intex Aqua i6 Goes Official: Price, Specs, Competition and More

    Domestic tech vendors continue to release affordable quad-core handsets to take on biggies including Samsung, Sony and LG. The latest addition in the market is Intex Aqua i6, the brand new smartphone featuring MediaTek's second -generation quad-core processor has been launched online touting a 5 inch screen display.

    The Intex Aqua i6 is touted to be South Asia's first handset based on MediaTek MT6582 chipset. The Aqua i6 will be made available in Black and White colors. The 5-inch phablet is priced at Rs. 8,990, and users will be able to grab the device from leading retail store and online sites from today.

    Specswise, the Aqua i6 is a mid-range Android smartphone totuting a 5.0-inch FWVGA display. Unfortunately, the display is not capable of showing 720p HD resolution, but the device is powered by a second-generation quad-core processor, backed by MediaTek's MT6582 chipset. The internal memory stands at 4GB (expandable up to 32GB via a microSD card slot), whereas the handset comes with 512MB of RAM.

    There's an 8-megapixel camera with LED Flash and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera for long video chat. The makers have added a 1900mAh battery fitted inside, which can lasts up to 6 hours on a single charge. Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean comes out of the box.

    Other highlighted connectivity options include: 3G HSPA, 2G (EDGE), Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, A-GPS and FM Radio.

    The phone is stuffed with pre-loaded apps too. The notable apps include: Intex Cloud, Online software update (FOTA), Bigflix, ZAPAK, Matrabhasha, Intex Play, Intex Life Box, amongst others.

    With Intex Cloud, users can store up to 5GB (free) of space with apps and personal data. 'Matrabhasha' enables smartphone usage in 22 regional languages which includes Hindi, Urdu, Tamil, Bengali, Assamese, Punjabi, Gujarati, Sanskrit, Maithili, Marathi, Manipuri, Sindhi, Dogri, Nepali and many more.
