Written By:

Inspired by the success of domestic Indian phone manufacturers, Intex has also begun aggressively launching a number of devices this year. Trailing closely behind the figures of Micromax and Karbonn, Intex has now introduced a new Full HD phablet, dubbed as Aqua i7. The Intex Aqua i7 was officially launched today in a Mumbai event by Bollywood celeb Farhan Akhtar.

The 5 inch device from the company is a result of the growth of phablet market in India. Moving on with the latest phablet, Intex Aqua i7 will be available at the price of Rs. 21,900 across the country from September 9. Moreover, the device will be available in two basic colors: Black and White. Along with the device, Intex also promises to offer free accessories worth Rs. 5,500 (flip cover, Cloud space, screen guard, limited edition key chain and pen personally signed by Farhan).

Lets have a look at the brief rundown on the specs and features of the newly launched Aqua i7 from Intex:

The device comes with a 5 inch full HD display (1920X1080p). The device is equipped with OGS (One Glass Solution) display technology and the Corning Gorilla Glass protects the device against any scratches and impact.

The phablet runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean OS and is powered by a massive 1.5GHz quad core MediaTek MT6589 processor which comes coupled with 2GB RAM.

Talking about camera, Aqua i7 comes loaded with 13MP rear shooter which is capable of capturing full HD videos. Additionally, 5MP front facing snapper can also be seen in the device.

In the storage section, one can find a 32 GB internal storage capacity which is quite impressive.

The 7.88 mm thin Aqua i7 comes with regular connectivity options like 3G, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, GSM+WCDMA and HSPA+. Apart from that the device comes with a Dual SIM support (GSM + WCDMA) with Dual Standby.

Moving on the the battery, the device is powered by a 2000mAh battery which according to Intex provides a talk-time of 7 hours and standby time of 220 hrs.

Looking at the price of the device, it is rather expensive when compared to the prices of other handsets from domestic manufacturer. Thus this could be one significant drawback of the device. The specs are pretty standard and it will likely compete with popular Micromax Canvas 4 and Karbonn Titanium S9, Xolo Play T1000, all of which fall in the same price range. These devices also come with similar specifications.
