Intex Aqua Wonder: iBall Andi 4.5q Android 4.1 Jelly Bean Rival Launched at Rs 9990
After launching Aqua Trendy and Aqua Flash - Android ICS smartphones, Intex Technologies has switched over to Jelly Bean smartphones now. The India based manufacturer has a good record of Android handsets, though it started making them only since the third quarter of last year.
Today, Intex has launched Aqua Wonder - a 4.5 inch Jelly Bean smartphone with the fast increasing penetration of the platform into the budget handset market segment. Aqua Wonder is priced at Rs 9,990 making it a wallet-friendly offering in the price conscious Indian market.
Specifications
When it comes to specs of Aqua Wonder, the dual SIM handset has a 4.5 inch IPS capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 960 x 540 pixels, 1GHz dual core processor, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS, 512MB RAM, 2GB internal storage, micro SD card slot supporting up to 32GB additional storage, 8MP rear camera with dual flash, 1.3MP front camera for video calling, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 3G and a 1,800 mAh battery delivering up to 3.5 hours talk time.
Further, the dual SIM handset comes with WCDMA + GSM support and has all the required sensors including proximity, motion, gyro and light sensors for enhanced user experience.
Price & Availability
Priced at Rs 9,990, Intex Aqua Wonder comes with a free 4GB micro SD card bundled in the package, a carrying pouch and a screen guard.
Competition
So far, Intex was launching smartphones and phablet with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. By launching Aqua Wonder with Jelly Bean, the company has stepped in the emerging competitive smartphone arena, which is facing a variety of new Jelly Bean based dual and quad core handsets from both local and global vendors including Samsung.
Over the last week, iBall another India based vendor has also launched a 4.5 inch Jelly Bean smartphone - iBall Andi 4.5q. The smartphone boasts a 4.5-inch qHD capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 960 x 540 pixels and 245 ppi pixel density, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS, 1GHz dual-core Cortex A9 processor, 512MB RAM, 4GB internal memory, micro SD card slot, 8MP rear camera, VGA front camera, Wi-Fi, 3G, Bluetooth and a 2,050 mAh battery. Moreover, Andi 4.5q is priced at Rs 11,490 making it pricier as compared to Aqua Wonder with similar specifications.
