Intex Technologies, an Indian computer peripheral manufacturer recently released a budget dual SIM mobile phone dubbed as Sense 3.0. This is the first time that the company has launched and Android handset to match the likes of the consumers in the growing smartphone market.

Dubbed by the name of Intex Aqua 4.0, the budget smartphone is mainly focused on the students and carries adequate specifications at a price of Rs 5,490.

Commenting on the launch, the GM Mobile Business, Intex Technologies, Sanjay Kumar said, “We have been in the mobile business from the last five years and hence offering smartphones is a natural progression in growing our product portfolio in the country. While smartphones are mostly used by urban population, our market survey has established the huge demand in smaller cities and towns.”

He continued stating that, "We at Intex are geared up to offer best of the smartphones. AQUA 4.0 is one such offering which has a host of bundled applications and features that make it an ideal choice at a pocket-friendly price for youngsters. Spurred by the market demand, Intex is planning to launch 5 new models of smartphones in the next few months.”

Specifications

Intex Aqua 4.0 sports a 3.5 inch display with 480 x 320 pixel resolution. The dual SIM handset is equipped with an 800 MHz processor, 512MB RAM and 131MB internal storage, which can be expanded to up to 32GB with the micro SD card slot.

Furthermore, the smartphone has a 3MP rear camera and a 0.3MP front camera. Aqua 4.0 is powered by a 1400 mAh battery, which offers 3 hours talk time and 140 hours standby time, claims the company.

On the connectivity front, the Aqua 4.0 smartphone is packed with Bluetooth 3.0 with A2DP, 3G with 7.2Mbps HSDPA, and 5.76 Mbps HSUPA and Wi-Fi.

Being the first Android smartphone of the company, it is flavored with the old version of Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS.

Other Features

Besides the above mentioned specifications, the handset has many other features such as English and Hindi language support, music player, FM Radio, sound recorder, mobile tracker, Push E-mail, Traffic monitor, video capture, social network integration and many pre-loaded applications.

Moreover, Aqua 4.0 is equipped with three sensors – gravity, proximity and light.

Intex being a budget handset manufacturer has priced the Aqua 4.0 at Rs 5,490. The handset can be purchased from over 15,000 distributors and retail outlets and also at the 70 Intex Squares and hypermarkets all over India.
