iPhone 5 Rival Alert: Samsung Galaxy S3 Price in India Slashed to Rs 34,900
The official phone of the Olympics 2012, Samsung Galaxy S3, was uncovered by the Korean manufacturer recently at the Earls Court press event in London this May. The new Galaxy smartphone has been receiving bunch of complements for its enhanced battery and processor capabilities since then and "hottest selling" tag. Also, Galaxy S3 has come with some inventive "S software features," which are based on a concept of "human interaction."
Following the success, the Korean giant recently released 4 new colors of S3. Detailing on the availability of the handset and price, till now it was available in India at a price of Rs 38,000. However a recent report is swirling in the tech media world, which states that Samsung has slashed the prices of Galaxy S3 and now it will be available at a new and lesser price tag of Rs 34,900.
While, the handset has already got the mark of selling more than 20 million in 100 days and the company has claimed that S3 is the fastest selling smartphone ever, however it seems now that Samsung reduced the price just to sustain the market share sustain the market shares even after the launch of iPhone 5.
The new Apple phone has come with upgraded specs as compared to its predecessor – which includes – 4 inch display with a resolution of 1136 x 640 pixels allowing a fifth row of icons on the homescreen, a new Apple A6 chipset, 1GB RAM, 16GB/32GB/64GB internal memory, 8MP rear camera with iSight technology and 1.2MP front camera for video calling.
Further, the iPhone 5 will come loaded with over 200 new features as it runs on the iOS 6 – the latest version of the mobile OS. iPhone 5 has connectivity features such as Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 with A2DP, 4G LTE, 3G and micro USB 2.0 support. The battery is claimed by Apple to offer a talk time of 8 hours and standby of 225 hours.
On the pricing front, there will be no changes when compared to iPhone 4S and it will be $199 (approx. Rs 11,000) for 16 GB, $299 (approx. Rs 16,500) for 32 GB and $399 (approx. Rs 22,000) for 64GB.
When it comes to Galaxy S3, its specifications include a 4.8 inches of Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display, Corning Gorilla Glass 2, TouchWiz UI Quad-core 1.4 GHz Cortex-A9 processor which makes it faster, an 8 mega pixel camera, 1.9MP front camera and many other software features as well.
