iPhone 5 to Launch in India for Rs 45,481 (16GB), Rs 50,948 (32GB) And Rs 56,415 (64GB) [Report]
During the Apple iPhone 5 announcement, Apple officially confirmed that the pre orders for the new smartphone will begin on September 14. The pre ordered units will start shipping at doors as early as September 21 for the users who live in USA, Canada, UK, France, Germany, Australia, Japan, Singapore or Hong Kong.
Apple has also confirmed that the iPhone 5 will join 22 more countries on September 28, and the iPhone 5 markets number will grow up to 100 by the end of this year.
While, in the US market the Cupertino-giant has priced 16GB iPhone 5 at $649, 32GB at $749 and 64GB at $849, at the same time, Gizbot has received an exclusive information from an inside source that when iPhone 5 will launch in India, it will be available in following price range:
iPhone 5 16GB is $649 in US - In India (locked)* Approx Rs.45,481 (Rs.35,481 + Rs. 10,000)
iPhone 5 32GB is $749 in US - In India (locked)* Approx Rs.50,948 (Rs.40,948 + Rs. 10,000)
iPhone 5 64GB is $849 in US - In India (locked)* Approx Rs.56,415 (Rs.46,415 + Rs. 10,000)
Gizbot has also been informed by the source -- who is familiar to the matter for past four years -- that going by the trend, Airtel and Aircel would not release the 64GB iPhone 5 model in India and only, 16GB and 32GB will be released initially.
At the same time, BGR reports have something more to add on to the details od iPhone 5 release in India. According to their latest report multiple sources , they have suggested that Apple’s Indian carrier partners Aircel and Airtel won’t sell the iPhone 5 in India this year. Instead, Apple will take over the distribution process for the iPhone 5 as well as the iPhone 4S and iPhone 4. Apple India has appointed Ingram Micro and Redington for distributing iPhones and has already ramped up its sales team to prepare for the iPhone 5 launch.
As per their report, multiple carriers, including Aircel and Airtel, will be offering special tariff plans for the iPhone 5. However, all these new details cannot be termed as confirmed till it is not made official by Apple, until then, all Indian Apple fanboys will have to be patient to get their hands-on the new iPhone 5.
