A fresh new week has just debuted and Karbonn seems to have added another pearl to its crown with the launch of a budget phablet - Karbonn A25.

In a recent development, a new Karbonn handset with a 5 inch display has been spotted online on two retailer websites at a price of Rs 6,590. Analyzing the launch pattern of Karbonn it is clear that the phablet has been launched online with a retail availability to follow soon.

Karbonn A25 - Key Specifications

Karbonn A25 sports a 5 inch capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels, 1GHz dual-core processor, Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, dual SIM support, 5MP rear camera with autofocus and LED flash, VGA front camera for video calling, 2G, Bluetooth 3.0, Wi-Fi, micro USB, 512MB RAM, 512MB internal memory, 32GB expandable memory with microSD and a 2,000 mAh battery.

Karbonn A25 - Price and Availability

Karbonn has priced A25 at Rs 6,590 and the phablet is available for purchase from online retailers Infibeam and Saholic.

Karbonn A25 - Competition Check

There are a plethora of phablets launched by the native vendors in the country. Also, these phablets are priced ranging from Rs 6,000 to Rs 15,000 based on their specifications.

When it comes to sub Rs 10,000 price range, recently, the market is witnessing several such launches in order to cater to the needs of the consumers who do not wish to empty their wallet on phablet purchases.

In April, Micromax came up with a budget phablet - Canvas Viva A72 at Rs 6,499. It has basic specifications being an entry-level phablet including a 5 inch WVGA capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels, 1GHz single core processor, Android 2.3.6 Gingerbread OS, dual SIM support, 256MB RAM, 110MB internal storage, micro SD card slot supporting up to 32GB additional storage, 3MP rear camera, VGA front camera, 2G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and a 2,000 mAh Li-Ion battery offering 280 hours standby and 7 hours talk time.

Analyzing the specs, priced similarly as Karbonn A25, Canvas Viva A72 comes with Gingerbread OS, which is an older version of the platform and a single core processor while the latter comes with dual core chip.

Spice Smart Flo Pace 2 Mi-502

Last week, Spice also launched a budget phablet called Smart Flo Pace 2 Mi-502 at Rs 6,999. Smart Flo Pace 2 Mi-502 housing a 5 inch WVGA capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels, 1GHz quad core processor, dual SIM support, Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS, 5MP rear camera, 1.3MP front camera, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, 512MB RAM, 512MB internal storage, micro SD card supporting up to 32GB additional storage and a 2,100 mAh battery.

As compared to Karbonn A25, Spice Smart Flo Pace 2 Mi-502 has a better front camera, quad core processor and a slightly increased battery capacity.

Byond Tech launched Phablet PI in April at Rs 10,999. Phablet PI comes with a 5.3 inch qHD IPS capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 960 x 540 pixels, 1GHz dual core processor, dual SIM support, Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean OS, 8MP rear camera with LED flash, 1.3MP front camera, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, 1GB RAM, 4GB internal storage, micro SD card supporting up to 32GB additional storage and a 2,000 mAh battery.

Of course, Karbonn A25 comes at a lesser price tag, but Phablet PI has a better display, Jelly Bean OS, improved camera, 3G and increased storage options.
