Karbonn A6: Top 3 Budget Smartphones That Might Be in Trouble With Launch of Newbie at Rs 5390

|

It seems like the India based manufacturers are more focused in launching budget smartphones with basic specifications. These vendors seem to have understood the pulse of the consumers who are highly price conscious and hence, they are offering a plethora handsets that fit in this segment.

The latest one comes from Karbonn as the company unveiled a smartphone - A6 online on Snapdeal at a price of Rs 5,390. Moreover, it was only a two days back that Karbonn launched another device online - Titanium S5, which is a quad core Jelly Bean handset priced at Rs 11,990.

Speaking of specs, A6 sports a 4 inch IPS capacitive touchscreen display with a WVGA resolution of 800 x 480 pixels, 1GHz single core processor, Android 4.0 ICS, 5MP rear camera, VGA front camera for video calling, 104MB, micro SD card slot, 512MB RAM, Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth and a 1,450 mAh battery offering up to 3.5 hours talk time and 250 hours standby.

As mentioned above, Karbonn has recently come up with an advanced smartphone - Titanium S5 and so soon it has come with another handset with lean specs and only Wi-Fi like A6. This strategy of the handset vendor makes it clear that it aims to make its presence evident in all segments of the smartphone market from entry-level to high-end all at reasonable price tags.

However, it is not only Karbonn that aims to launch such mobiles in the booming smartphone era as several other companies including global and local vendors are also oriented towards the same.

To name a few, Samsung has come up with the Rex lineup of handsets and Nokia has its Asha series of low end handsets despite of their high-end smartphone offerings. With the market being occupied with leading smartphone vendors, it must be too competitive for Karbonn, but, by providing the right specs and price, A6 could be a success. Hence, Gizbot has come up with the gallery showing the smartphones that will land in trouble with the launch of Karbonn A6.
