Karbonn A9 Star With 5 MP Camera Launched at Rs 5,699: Top 5 Rivals

After launching A8 smartphone recently, Karbonn has now pushed another handset called the A9 Star at a price of Rs. 5,699 on online retail site. The device comes with a relatively small display when compared to its other models which come at the same price range. As of now, Micromax has been quoted to be the top domestic manufacturer but looking at the way Karbonn is making its way in the market, it seems to be catching up with Micromax.

The newly launched Karbonn A9 Star is a sub mid range handset that comes with pretty decent specs. Have a look at the specs below:

It comes packed with a 3.9 inches Capacitive Touchscreen display which offers a WVGA resolution of 480 x 800 pixels .

The handset runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) operating system which is quite old compared to competing models that come pre-loaded with Jelly Bean 4.1, 4.2 and even 4.3.

Karbonn A9 Star is powered by a 1 GHz Dual Core Processor coupled with 512 MB of RAM. The CPU and RAM is fair enough given the price of the handset. A Gravity Sensor comes attached with the device.

Moving on to the camera, there is a 5 megapixel rear shooter capable of taking pictures at 2592x1944 pixels quality and a front facing VGA snapper is also an additional perk.

In the connectivity section, Bluetooth, GPRS, 3G , WiFi 802.11 b/g/n , WAP and GPS Navigation can be found and like most of the Indian handsets, Karbonn A9 Star also comes with a Dual Sim Support (WCDMA + GSM ).

Talking about the internal storage capacity, there is a 4 GB memory which is expandable up to 32 GB via microSD card.
