Karbonn KW Preview
The dual SIM technology has really caught on in India. More than Android and smartphone features, this has been one aspect that is being eagerly sought out by most consumers. With most dual SIM handsets being competitively priced, the demand for these has been even in pretty much all categories of the buying public - professionals, students, sales executives, social workers, housewives, etc.

Karbonn Mobiles in one of the leading players in the market. Since its launch in the Indian market, Karbonn is a name commanding respect and value. This reputation has been largely achieved thanks to competitive pricing, attractive features, aesthetic and upmarket looks, reliability, and of course dual SIM facility.

Karbonn is the result of two major Indian telecom companies, the Jaina Group and the UTL Group joining forces. The innovation behind each Karbonn product and the quality maintained ensure that this Indian mobile handset manufacturer is more than equipped to face the onslaught of foreign manufacturers including Nokia, Samsung, Sony Ericsson, Virgin, Alcatel, Huawei, Panasonic, etc.

Karbonn Mobiles has announced the launch of Karbonn KW, another GSM dual SIM mobile. Dual SIM convenience combines with reasonable entertainment features as well as a brilliant white color and a slim bar design with rounded edges.

This is a multimedia phone with attractive QWERTY keypad. It features a 2-megapixel camera, FM radio, and multi-format video and audio player. Karbonn KW's internal memory can be expanded to 8GB through microSD card support. It is also equipped with Bluetooth and USB connectivity. The 900 mAh Li-Ion battery gives 150 minutes of talk time and around 200 hours of standby time. Its 2.4" QVGA display is attractive and it has a 320x240 pixel screen resolution.

The keypad is dominated by a round central navigation button with a chrome-like border and two other circular buttons on either side of the large one. The other keys seem to be a little crowded, and this element could have been designed better. However the keys are easy to use and really convenient, resembling a laptop or PC keyboard. When you look at the white design from a distance it could remind you of ice or sugar crystals!

At 100 grams, Karbonn KW is really lightweight and easy to carry around. It's not 3G-compatible though, and does not support EDGE of WiFi. It however offers GPRS Class 12 support. For a basic multimedia handset, it looks pretty outstanding. The price in India is currently revealed by sources as Rs. 2650.
