Karbonn Titanium S9 Launched at Rs 19,990: Is Samsung Galaxy Mega 5.8 Getting Chills?
Indian mobile phone manufacturer, has been in the move to come up with the devices that can compete the likes of Samsung Galaxy Series and other devices. The evergreen Samsung demand in India has been in a threat because now more and more devices from homegrown brands like Micromax and Karbonn has been coming to international highlight gradually.

Moreover, Micromax Canvas 4 has created the stir in the market and is available for preorders but the specs of the device is not disclosed yet. This is one device that has been in the gossip section ever since it was heard for the first time. And now to make the competition even more serious Karbonn has recently introduced their Titanium S9 with features that can kill most of the devices currently running the market.
Titanium S9 can easily challenge all the Samsung devices so far, although it may lack a bit on the features but that can be compensated with the lesser price of it. Thus, after a serious thought, GizBot has decided to compare the latest mega phablet from Karbonn with the Samsung's Galaxy Mega 5.8.
Hence, here is a brief and comparative highlight on the specs of the two giant devices:
Display
Karbonn Titanium S9 comes with a massive 5.5 inch HD IPS Capacitive Touchscreen display that offers a 1280 x 720 pixels screen resolution and 16 M color depth. On the other hand, the Samsung Galaxy Mega 5.8 sports a 5.8 inch qHD TFT capacitive Multi-touch display offering a resolution of 540 x 960 Pixels. Titanium S9 thus can be preferred as it has a better resolution.
OS, Processor and RAM
Both Karbonn Titanium S9 and Samsung Galaxy Mega 5.8 run on the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean but Galaxy Mega comes with the TouchWiz UI. It is powered by a 1.4 GHz, Dual Core processor supported by 1.5 GB RAM while the Titanium comes powered by a powerful 1.2 GHz Quad-core processor backed by a standard 1GB RAM. The quad core device will obviously have a better performance capability and although Karbonn phablet may be low on RAM, 1GB is still not a bad standard.
Camera
Talking about camera, Karbonn has aggressively put 13 MP camera at the rear side of the Titanium S9 that also comes with Auto-Focus and Flash while on the front face of the phablet it has got a premium 5MP camera. Swinging on the rear side of the Galaxy Mega 5.8, it has got an 8 Megapixel with a LED flash and auto focus and a 1.9 Megapixel front facing camera. Thus it can be said that the Karbonn has directly aimed to come at the top notch level in the smartphone category.
Connectivity
Karbonn Titanium S9 and Galaxy Mega 5.8 both share a similar standard connectivity options that include 2G, 3G, WiFI, Bluetooth and USB. Both the phablets feature a dual SIM support.
Storage and Battery
Karbonn Titanium S9 comes with a 16GB internal memory and comes with a microSD card slot that supports upto 32GB. Whiile on the other side, Samsung Galaxy Mega 5.8 comes with an 8 GB internal storage capacity with a microSD card support supporting up to 64 GB. Thus storage-wise Samung may have the upper hand. Both the devices come powered by a 2600 mAh.
Price
The latest Karbonn Titanium S9 is priced at Rs. 19,990 while the Samsung Galaxy Mega 5.8 comes at a bit higher price of Rs. 24,900.
Conclusion
Although, Samsung has a bigger display size, Karbonn provides better ressolution on it's little lesser sized display. Moreover, Titanium S9 comes with a quad core processor and a massive 13 MP rear camera and 5 MP front facing camera. Thus it could be a safer bet to buy Karbonn Titanium S9 and not only that, the device also comes at a lesser price. The only aspect one will sacrifice by buying Titanium S9 is the .3 inch bigger display and .5GB RAM. Moreover, Samsung will be challenged in more aspects when Micromax Canvas 4 will launch.
