Following Zopo, UMI Mobiles and others, yet another Chinese handset vendor - Konka has entered the Indian smartphone space. Konka is all set to launch two Android smartphones in India namely, Expose 960 and Expose 970.
Konka has been looking forward to enter the global smartphone market since quite sometime and has finally made it by pushing its Android smartphones under the Expose lineup in India. Expose 960 and Expose 970 will be distributed in India by MAK Mobility.
Display: Expose 960 houses a 4.3 inch IPS capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels and Expose 970 packs a 4.5 inch IPS capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 960 x 540 pixels.
Further, the IPS technology offers wide viewing angle and vibrant color output and the One Glass Solution (OGS) technology makes these devices slimmer than other offerings.
Processsor: Both the smartphones come equipped with a 1GHz dual-core MediaTek MT6577 processor under their hood.
Operating System: Again, both Expose smartphones are flavored by Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS.
Camera: In terms of camera optics, Expose 960 and Expose 970 sport an 8MP rear camera with autofocus and LED flash and 2MP front camera for video calling.
Storage: On the storage front, again, both the handsets have 4GB internal storage, 512MB RAM and a micro SD card slot for expandable memory support.
Connectivity: Konka has equipped its handsets with connectivity features including 3G, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth and GPS.
Battery: Expose 960 is loaded with a 1,700 mAh battery and Expose 970 with a slightly larger display is powered by a 1,750 mAh battery.
Expose 960 and Expose 970 will be loaded with K-Store, the app store from Konka, however, the there is no information on how many apps the app store contains. Konka has also included a motion sensor-assisted function in Expose, thereby, flipping the phone to face the floor mutes all sounds. Also, the 'picture in picture' feature allows users to watch two videos or pictures at the same time.
Price & Availability
Konka has priced Expose 960 and Expose 970 at Rs 13,999 and Rs 14,999 respectively.
Commenting at the launch, Manish Pengoriya, director, MAK Mobility said, "With K-Store, Konka offers exclusive apps in Expose' that completes the package and allows the user to enjoy an amazing camera-phone experience. We are optimistic of double digit growth in the Indian market and believe that Konka phones will gain a stronger foothold in India's ever growing handset market, by providing smart devices coupled with Cloud based services and applications."
