Latest clam shell model smartphone; The Samsung M370

Mobile phones in all types of form factors are now available in the market. One very convenient and efficient mobile phone design is the clam shell model in which the phone is literally folded up.

This enables the addition of extra features in a small and specific size. Samsung has officially announced that their new mobile M370 will be a clam shell model.

The edges of the phone are rounded up and it has an over all curvy design. They come in a variety of colors including matt black which looks very attractive in the phone. Once the phone is folded up, only the main camera, the front display and the physical buttons in the side are visible. Its small size gives the user ease of carrying it around. At 105 grams it is sufficiently light too.

Once the phone is opened up the main display and the alpha numeric keypad becomes visible. The main display has a physical size of 2.4 inch and packs in a display resolution of 240 x 320 pixels. This is not the most cutting edge display out there in the market but considering the fact that it is a feature phone, the display seems impressive.

The secondary display is kept in the outer side of the foldable panel. It helps the user to know who is calling without even opening the phone. It also displays the signal reception, battery level and has called or message indicators. While in stand by, it even displays the time. And all this features increases the over all practicality of the phone. The camera has a resolution of 1.3 mega pixels and is enriched by digital zoom features. There is a self timer too so that you can time your shots to take group or individual pictures.

Samsung M370 price tag is not yet announced. The phone is all set to be launched in January 8th during the Consumer electronics show. Being a feature phone its price can be expected to be very affordable.
