New Lava Iris X1 Launched With Android KitKat at Rs 7,999: Meet the Top 10 Smartphone Rivals

The entry of the Moto E smartphone in India has made the domestic handset makers including Micromax, Lava, Karbonn and others feel insecured of their leadership. Thus most of the native handset maker are coming up with their latest handsets, which are potential enough to tackle the Moto E sales in India.

 

Micromax launched Unite 2 last week and it comes with the very competitive specs like Android Kitkat OS and quad core processor. The company also launched the new model today called the Canvas Engage to beat the Moto E sales in India.

But it's not only Micromax which is trying to compete with the Motorola, today Lava also entered into the rivalry by launching Iris X1 smartphone which comes with even better internals to rival Moto E. The price of the handset is Rs. 7,999.

Looking at the advent of an affordable Android Kitkat flavored handsets in India, GizBot has come up with a number of handsets that will compete with the latest Lava Iris X1 smartphone in the Indian market.

But before going ahead with that, lets take a look at the specs of the handset first: Lava Iris X1 takes a leaf out of the Iris Pro series as far as the aesthetics is concerned. Iris X1 sports a 4.5-inch FWVGA IPS (854 x 480 pixels) display. It is powered by a 1.2 GHz Quad-Core Broadcom BCM23550 processor coupled with 1GB RAM.

Iris X1 sports an 8 MP rear camera with LED flash and a 1.4 µm pixel BSI+ sensor. The rear Camera supports full HD (1080p) video recording and playback, comes with Auto focus, touch to focus functionality and HDR mode that automatically snaps a rapid burst of photos to select the best possible shot. It also includes a 2.0-MP front-facing camera for video calling.

The device comes with 4GB of native memory that is expandable up to 32GB via micro-SD card. On connectivity front, the dual SIM Iris X1 comes with 3G connectivity apart from Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v4.0 BLE (Bluetooth low energy), micro-USB and EDGE. It offers OTG support to enable file transfer through USB drive on the move.
