Lava Now Pushing OTA Software Update to XOLO A800 Owners

Lava has been an incremental leader in launching budget friendly devices for the masses. With slew of mesmerizing handsets under its credit, the Indian handset maker is now updating the firmware update to recently launched - Lava XOLO A800. The latest news on the handset which was launched back last year is that it is getting a major OTA (Over the Air) software update.

As informed by the folks at AndroidOS, the software update will basically brings a tab on precarious bugs, and harness the overall experience found in any Android phone in the modern age. The users can also download the update by both ways; manual and as well as over-the-air software update. Though, the update is bit heavy - a mind blogging 166.5 MB in size, it will considerably improve upon the battery charging time.

Lava Xolo A800

Lava which is in fact a top-tier Indian handset maker launched - Lava XOLO A800 in the last month of 2012. Priced at Rs. 11,999, the smartphone, which now a part of ever expanding bigger-- XOLO family, is facing a stiff competition from Micromax Canvas 2. The Lava XOLO A800 is a decent handset with a dual core processor, a 4.5-inch (960 x 540 pixels), a mere 512MB of RAM and a standard 8-mega pixel rear camera. The device runs on the Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) and is powered by a 1,600mAh battery.

Lava XOLO 900

Unlike, Lava XOLO 900 which was the first handset to be produced under Intel- Lava joint venture; the Lava XOLO A800 is not supported by Intel powered chipset. The former handset failed to sizzle due to the high price of the handset apart from lethargic software issues. Although the device garnered much attention at Mobile World Congress 2012, held at Barcelona, Spain.

Lava XOLO 500

This year the manufacturer baked a new handset in the form - XOLO 500. Yet again, the company, managed to bring all new functionality with yet another attempt, thanks to Intel's long term commitment. The Lava XOLO 500 flashes Intel Atom Z2420 chipset. Earlier known by the name of Lexginton, the new chipset has a clock speed of 1.2GHz. The world's leading chipmaker announced this new chipset at CES, 2013.

The LAVA XOLO 500 is indeed a mediocre handset with a 3.5-inch display, a 512MB of RAM, 4GB of internal memory, and built in 3G antenna as well. The handset supports Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS). Like its specifications, the handset, too, flaunts a budget price tag of Rs. 8,999.
