Lava Budget Quad Core Iris Series All Set to Unleash Starting May 17
It all stared when a flurry of Android based quad core CPU large size handsets started pouring in the global mobile space last year. And now the war is getting intense. Specially, India and China is famous for manufacturing low budget variants of these high end phablets.
In India after Micromax, Lava entered this heating quad core war with the Xolo branding when the company launched Lava Xolo Q800 and now it seems the native tech vendor is planning to dent the market with the debut of a new series of quad core devices, even below Rs 10,000.
Already, Lava has been teasing a smartphone with the tag "Power of Four Coming Soon" on its Facebook page since a couple of days hinting that it is planning to announce a quad core handset soon.
Now GizBot has received exclusive information from a trusted source close to the matter that Lava is all set to unveil a series of brand new quad core handsets in the coming weeks and the new series would be "highly affordable."
The launch campaign of the new series will be similar to "Lava Blockbuster Phoneday" launch scheme. Hence, the company will be launching one or two handsets every week starting from May 17, 2013.
As of now, there is no information on the other specifications of the handsets, but the source has disclosed that the handsets will debut running on Android Jelly Bean 4.1 or 4.2.
Also, GizBot has come to know that the smartphones will be launched in the Iris lineup of Lava, which already boasts some of the budget handsets with decent specifications including Iris 455, Iris 430 and more.
Bringing budget smartphones with quad core processor will offer advantages such as much faster browsing, multiple tabs processing and more. Of course, multitasking will be smoother and more responsive and issues like stuttering, freezing, shutting down will no more happen.
