Lava Xolo A800 Launched with 4.5-Inch Display at Rs 11,999: How is it Better than Xolo A700?
Lava Mobiles has recently sizzled the Indian smartphone arena with a lot of releases including Iris N320, Iris N350, Iris N400 and Xolo A700. Futher, at the time of launching Xolo A700, the company was rumored to be working on Xolo A800, which was reportedly coming in December with an Intel Atom processor.
Now, it seems like the report has turned out true as Lava has launched dual SIM Xolo A800 handset for a price of Rs 11,999. Moreover, the handset is available for purchase from online retailer sites including Flipkart at the same price.
Only in the last month, Lava launched Xolo A700 with similar specs at Rs 9,999. So soon, it has come up with its successor with price difference of Rs 2,000. Hence, it could be confusing the consumers on which one to choose. For that reason, has come up with the comparison between the two devices.
Dimensions & Weight: Xolo A800 measures 133 x 67 x 10.5 mm and weighs in at 115 grams, while, Xolo A700 boasts a dimension of 136 x 68.5 x 9.1 mm and the same weight of 115 grams.
Display: When it comes to the display, both the handsets pack a 4.5 inch IPS qHD capacitive touchscreen display with 960 x 540 pixel resolution.
Processor: In this segment, both the Xolo smartphones are equipped with a dual core 1GHz MediaTek processor, which boosts application and browser performance by about 40% as compared to other processors.
Operating System: Likewise most of the other smartphones in that price range, both Xolo A700 and Xolo A800 come with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system.
Camera: In terms of camera optics, Xolo A800 has an 8MP rear camera with auto-focus and LED flash and also has a front facing 0.3MP camera for video calling.
In comparison, Xolo A700 comes with lower resolution camera of 5MP with LED flash and autofocus and a similar 0.3MP front camera for video calling purposes.
Storage: When it comes to storage, both the handsets have 4GB internal storage, 512MB and a micro SD card slot supporting up to 32GB expandable memory.
Connectivity: In terms of connectivity, the smartphones have 3G, Bluetooth, GPS with aGPS, USB 2.0 and Wi-Fi features.
Battery: When it comes to power management, Xolo A800 is a low performaner equipped with a 1,600 mAh battery offering 2 hours talktime as compared to Xolo A700 with a 1,700 mAh battery delivering 3 hours talk time.
Price: On the pricing front, being the successor, Xolo A800 is priced at Rs 11,999, whereas, Xolo A700 is available for Rs 9,999.
Analyzing the specs, it is quite clear that Xolo A800, the recent offering from the India based manufacturer has an 8MP camera at the rear, which is better in performance as compared to the 5MP camera in its predecessor. However, for the difference in the camera performance the handset is priced at Rs 11,999, which is Rs 2,000 more than Xolo A700. Moreover, the new handset has a lesser battery backup.
Finally, the consumers have to decide if they need to spend the extra money for the slight camera improvement or buy the handset with a 5MP camera and save their wallet.
