Lenovo 5 Inch 1080p Dual SIM Mysterious Handset Spotted Online: Coming to Steal the Thunder of Samsung Galaxy Note 2
It seems like 1080p 5 inch display devices are going to set the trend in 2013. Already, manufacturers including HTC, Oppo and Sharp have announced their devices featuring the high end technology, at the same time Samsung, LG and others are also rumored to come with the same in the near future. And now, the latest to join the bandwagon is our very own World's top most PC marker Lenovo.
Reportedly, the Chinese tech giant is prepping a new phablet heavyweight implementing 1080p 5 inch display technology and other ground breaking features.
According to an Engadget latest report, the phablet popped up on Sina Weibo (Twitter-like Chinese microblogging site), however got deleted soon after it was uploaded. The screenshots displayed customized Lenovo Android UI on 1080p display.
Further, going by the trend of Chinese handsets, the device is also rumored to support dual SIM connectivity as the screenshots hint that the device is connected simultaneously to CDMA2000 network of China Telecom and 2G network of China Mobile.
However, the report claims that it is not confirmed that the upcoming handset will come equipped with a 5 inch display, however, reportedly it is expected to have a display size, between 4.5 to 5.5 inches. Going by the logic that 5 inch 1080p panels are made by Sharp, which concludes that the Lenovo device could have a 5 inch display.
Galaxy Note 2 – A Big Competition!
Well analysts believe that if the current report about the Lenovo's upcoming handset holds any existence, then the smartphone maniacs can be assured to witness a serious knock out competition among the phablet category and specially the phablet king – Samsung Galaxy Note 2 – the hottest selling phablet with 5.5 inch display.
As far as the specs of Galaxy Note successor are concerned, it has a 5.5 inch Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display with 1280 x 720 pixel resolution, 1.6GHz quad core processor, 2GB RAM, micro SD card slot supporting 32GB, 8MP rear camera, 1.9MP front camera, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, DLNA, Wi-Fi Direct, Wi-Fi hotspot, Bluetooth with A2DP and a massive 3,100 mAh Li-ion battery.
Running on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS, the Galaxy Note 2 comes in three different configurations – 16GB, 32GB and 64GB internal storage.
Further, the Note 2 has an improved stylus with a rubbed tip for better touch response. Also, the Air View feature of the device lets the users control it by hovering the S-Pen stylus over the display without touching.
With dual SIM connectivity, lesser price tag and high definition display, the Lenovo offering could give a stiff competition Galaxy Note 2.
