Lenovo A7000 Might Launch in India on April 7: A Big Threat to Xiaomi and Huawei?

Chinese handset manufacturer Lenovo has sent out invites for the launch event on April 7th in India. The invite shows the Dolby Atmos theater with a message saying Save the Date, 7 April 2015.

According to the tech world, Lenovo A7000 will be launched on the same day and as hinted, it is the only smartphone with Dolby Atmos Audio. This mobile was previously unveiled at MWC 2015, earlier this month in Barcelona, Spain.

Lenovo A7000 - Key specifications

Lenovo A7000 sports a 5.5-inch IPS display with 1280 × 720 pixels. It is powered by a 1.5 GHz Octa-Core MediaTek MT6752M processor and 16-core Mali-T760 GPU along with 2GB RAM under the hood. Moreover on the storage front, it has 8GB of built-in memory, with an expansion option via microSD card slot.

On the camera factor, it flaunts an 8MP autofocus camera with LED Flash, 5MP front-facing camera and measures 152.6x 76.2 x 7.9mm and weighs around 140grams. This device is equipped with Dolby ATMOS, for excellent sound clarity.

Moving on to the connectivity factor, it supports options such as 4G LTE / 3G HSPA+, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and powered by a 2,900mAh battery on board.

Coming in Onyx Black, Laser Yellow and Pearl White variants, Lenovo A7000 is expected to carry a price tag of Rs 10,000 in the Indian market. We will keep you posted about the official pricing and availability of the device on April 7th.

Previously, Lenovo has launched its predecessor A6000 earlier this year. This device is packed with Lenovo A6000 sports a 5-inch HD display, powered by a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8916 processor clocked at 1.2GHz, 1GB RAM, Android 4.4 (Kit Kat), 8GB of internal storage and an expandable storage of up to 32GB, 8MP auto-focus rear camera w/ LED flash, 2MP fixed-focus front camera, and powered by a 2,300mAh (Li-polymer, replaceable) battery.

Lenovo A7000 will come in the market as a direct competitor against two most talked about Chinese smartphones in the market including Xiaomi Redmi 2 and recently launched Huawei Honor 4X.
