Looks like 2014 is going to be a year of screen resolution for most of the smartphone manufacturers. Recently, a new smartphone from Lenovo has been spotted on the web featuring a 2K resolution. The K7T (Kingdom) smartphone from the company was, in fact, spotted at the AnTuTu Benchmark database in China.
The maker of the K900 smartphone has already released the Vibe X and Vibe Z smartphones with Full HD display previously. So, 2K display sounds pretty feasible area for the company to explore as this phase.
According to the alleged benchmark screenshot, the K7T would come with a 2560×1400 pixels resolution and will be the first smartphone from the company to sport a 2K display.
It would be powered by Qualcomm's popular Snapdragon 800 quad core processor clocked at 2.2 GHz along with Adreno 330 GPU. Also add a 3GB RAM for better performance. You can expect the smartphone to come with Android 4.4.1 (KitKat) out of the box.
Camera-wise, Lenovo has been doing a great job. The Vibe X came with a stunning a 5 MP wide angle front facing camera and also featured a number of features like 'Beautify' which is highly being spoken of, these days. Most probably, the alleged upcoming handset would come with a similar camera features. It would have a similar 13-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera.
Also the leaked screenshot shows that the device would come with 16GB of internal storage. It would probably come with an expansion slot too. The smartphone might also come with a 4G LTE support.
So far, there are no details about the display size and battery capacity of the smartphone as of now. But rumors has it that the upcoming Lenovo flagship would come with a 6-inch display, similar to the Vivo XPlay 3S that was unveiled in China recently.
Since the Mobile World Congress (MWC) is fast approaching, the alleged Lenovo K7T might be announced at the same event at Barcelona next month. The Chinese company has not spoken about the device formally as of now. Also the price and availability of the device is yet to be disclosed.
However, the Lenovo K7T is not the only smartphone coming with a 2K display. Even Samsung's Galaxy S5 and Sony's Xperia Z2 are supposed to launch this year featuring similar display resolutions. Needless to say, all these devices will come attached with a hefty price tag.
