Lenovo has always been a trendsetter when it comes to churning prolific handsets. Remember the Vibe Z which went on sale last year with much fanfare?
It wasn't a perfect flagship phone but could have achieved cult status if marketed aggressively. Now China's most promising handset maker is fully prepped to reveal its latest sensation high-end handset - the K920.
It's been a while since Lenovo launched any new big-ticket handset. While other major handset makers such as Samsung and Sony constantly producing mid-to-high-end smartphones, Lenovo, on the other hand, could be ready to announce its most talked handset till date.
Yes, we're talking about the K920. It's the same handset which was reportedly teased at one of the tech events in China last month. But now if the latest buzz is to be believed, Lenovo will finally unveil its monster 2K resolution phone on August 5. Wang Yan, the firms' marketing general manager has posted a teaser image on his Weibo account that gives us a crystal clear glimpse of the much awaited smartphone.
The teaser image confirms the arrival of a 16MP rear-facing camera with dual-LED Flash and optical image stabilization. This is all that one can get from the teased poster.
If rumors are anything to go by, the K920 will sport a 6-inch 2K resolution display, a quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of on-board memory and a monster 4,000mAh battery. In the imaging department, the phone will surely feature a 16MP camera, alongside a 5MP front -facing shooter for selfies. The handset should come with an Android 4.4 Kitkat on board.
So far there is no word on the retail availability or pricing of the Lenovo K920. Clearly, Lenovo will target those who crave to own high-end handset devices with premium features. The K920 will indeed face tough competition from the likes of the LG G3, Oppo Find 7, Samsung Galaxy S5 LTE-A among others.
