While most of the OEMs are coming up with slew of Android KitKat smartphones Lenovo has been on the silent mode for quite sometime. But today, the China-based tech manufacturer broke the silence and introduced a new smartphone.

Yes, Lenovo has launched its latest S850 smartphone in India at the price of Rs. 15,499. The phone obviously falls in the S Series and the China-based smartphone maker is offering the device in Pink and White colors.

Currently, Lenovo S850 is available for pre-order on company's official e-commerce site TheDoStore starting today and comes with a free snap stand case as well. Moreover, it would be available across 2000+ retail outlets and leading retail chains in India by the end of July 2014.

Basically, we can't call it a new smartphone as Lenovo S850 was unveiled at the MWC held earlier this year and comes with a mid-range hardware and software options as well.

Lenovo S850: Key Specifications

The Lenovo S850 comes with a 5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD capacitive touch screen display with 178-degree wide viewing angle and is powered by a 1.3 GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6582 processor with PowerVR SGX544 GPU coupled with 1GB RAM. Further, the smartphone runs on Android 4.4 (Kitkat) OS with Lenovo's custom UI on top.

Dimension wise, Lenovo S850 measures 8.2 mm thick and weighs at 140g, also the smartphone features a 13MP rear camera with LED Flash and a 5MP front-facing camera. Other specs include: Dual SIM, 16GB internal memory, 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and 2000 mAh battery.

Moreover, buyers will also get to see pre-loaded apps from Lenovo which include Premium DOit Apps, SHAREit, SYNCit and SECUREit.

Commenting on the new launch, Sudhin Mathur, Director - Smartphones, Lenovo India, said, "As smartphones become more mainstream, consumers expect intuitive and fast products from all premium brands. Competition

The Lenovo S850 comes at a pretty affordable price and features a decent specs. If compared to the latest entrant- Mi3 from Xiaomi, Lenovo S850 won't be much of a threat. However, it has got enough potential to beat all the remaining smartphones with KitKat flavor, which are being offered for lesser than Rs. 14,000.
