Lenovo Vibe X2 Announced With Octa Core CPU, LTE Support and More: All You Need To Know

Today, at the IFA 2014 event in Berlin, Lenovo launched its two latest premium smartphones in the Vibe series - the Vibe X2 and Vibe Z2. The thin and light weight Vibe X2 features a unique tri-layered design and is powered by advanced performance as it uses MediaTek MT6595 4G LTE True 8Core processor and innovative click-on accessories.

The latest Vibe X2 will be offered in White, Gold, Red and Dark Grey color variants and it will be available first in China starting October, and subsequently in Asia Pacific, Eastern Europe and the Middle East in countries where Lenovo smartphones are currently sold. The Vibe X2 will retail at $399 (approx. Rs. 24,043).

Lenovo Vibe X2: Key Specifications

The Lenovo Vibe X2 sports a 5.0-inch wide-view FHD display offering a Full HD resolution of 1920x1080pixels. It is powered by a MediaTek MT6595m 4G LTE 2.0GHz True8Core processor coupled with 2GB RAM. It runs on Android 4.4 KitKat OS. The smartphone houses 32GB of ROM.

Connectivity options include: 4G LTE; FDD Band 1,3,7,20, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/ac, Wi-Fi hotspot, and Bluetooth 4.0 . The device will also be launched in Dual SIM variant for Asian market and other market will receive a singe SIM model.

The latest offering from Lenovo comes with a 13MP auto-focus rear camera with LED Flash and at the front there is a 5MP fixed-focus front facing shooter.

The Lenovo Vibe X2 comes with a 140.2 X 68.6 X 7.27mm dimension and is powered by a 2300mAh Li-polymer battery. According to the company the battery will offer the talk time up to 17 hours on 2G network and 19 hours on 3G and 19.5 hours on 4G. If offers standby time of up to 9.5 days (2G), 9 days (3G) and 7.5 days (4G).

To further personalize and amplify the mobile experience, Lenovo has also introduced two new innovative click-on accessories, known as Vibe Xtensions, that work seamlessly with the Vibe X2. These are called the Vibe X2 Battery and Vibe X2 speaker.

The Vibe Xtension1 cases add a fourth layer to the Vibe X2's multi-layer design, immediately extending battery life and cranking up high-fi sound. The ultra-thin (5.1mm) X2 Battery does double duty by protecting the phone while also extending its battery life by nearly up to 75 percent, so it can last straight from day to night without having to recharge.

The X2 Speaker serves to amplify the phone's sound when listening to music and watching movies, and comes with a convenient stand for hands-free use and built-in mic for group conference calls.
