Lenovo Vibe X2 Sold Out in Just 2 Days in India

Unlike its native rival Xiaomi, Lenovo has not revealed the number of Vibe X2 smartphone sold in the Indian market since its launch on Monday this week. However, the fact that it has gone out of stock from the exclusive online retailer Flipkart hints are large sales figures.

While the company didn't mention how many units were sold or how quickly, it said on Wednesday that the "world's first layered smartphone received a great initial response on Flipkart."

Sudhin Mathur, Director, Smartphones, Lenovo India said, "The kind of response Vibe X2 has been getting in India is overwhelming. The X2 layered design is a unique proposition from Lenovo and we are happy that consumers are appreciating the innovations that we are bringing to the Indian smartphone market."

Michael Adnani, Vice President, Retail and Head, Flipkart reported said, "The Vibe X2 has seen a tremendous response on Flipkart. This showcases not only our capabilities as an e-commerce partner but also the ability to attract a world-class brand to sell a flagship product exclusively on Flipkart."

Priced at Rs. 19,999, Lenovo's Vibe X2 sports a 5-inch (1080x1920 pixels) IPS display and runs Android 4.4 KitKat out-of-the-box with Vibe UI 2.0. Other specs include 2GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6595m processor, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of inbuilt storage, 13-megapixel auto focus rear camera, a 5-megapixel front camera, and a 2300mAh battery. Moreover, it is a dual-SIM supported handset.

What is interesting about the device is that it is bundled with amazing offers like 95% discount on a Vibe Xtensions accessory, 35% discount when shopping via the Myntra Android app (using the LENOVO35 coupon code), apart from preselected Flipkart ebooks worth Rs. 1,200 for free. Additionally, HDFC/ ICICI credit card consumers could get 6 months of EMI interest charges refunded as cashback, if purchased on a 6-month EMI plan.
