LG, one among the biggest consumer electronics giant is said to be working on its smart watch project. Multiple reports in the past confirmed the existence of LG's intelligent watch; however, no one knew when the company plans to release officially.
Earlier in the month of March 2013, sources close to the Korean Times hinted that the G2 maker was working on smartwatch and simultaneously working on Google Glass competitor. Then, more details unearthed, when LG filed a patent in the name of G Watch and G Glass. Now, what next? GizBot tried to find more evidence in respect to LG G Watch.
We once again made a contact with Steve Koh, Head - Mobile Communication at LG India to get more details on the highly anticipated LG G watch. For the first time, a senior executive over at LG accepted that a smartwatch is in the making.
"Apple and Samsung and we are also working on it." When asked to tell us about LG smartwatch; he told us that LG smartwatch is a "mobile watch." It looks like the watch ... Three years back we had a smartwatch...we have those technologies, whenever we will see the market demand, we will launch it."
The senior executive over at LG didn't share exact time frame nor specifications of the so-called G Watch. Nonetheless, LG accepted for the first time that major tech vendors including Apple and Samsung are working on their respective smart watch. It is hard to say that LG will announce its smart watch at the upcoming IFA Berlin.
On the other hand, Samsung is geared up to launch Galaxy Gear at IFA Berlin alongside Note 3 on September 4. Reportedly, Samsung Gear is said to power by Android OS with calling functionality built into it. Cupertino-based Apple is also working hard to craft an intelligent watch. Apple may announce its iWatch later this year. While Japanese giant, Sony has already announced Smart Watch 2 , and in the September Indian consumer will most likely to buy one.
