LG Flaunts Quad Core Flagship Optimus G in a New Teaser Video

With the arrival of Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon S4 Pro chip, the fight for the fastest Android phone has tightened up. LG is claiming to become the first company to incorporate this chip in their smartphones. With a new teaser video, LG showcased it flagship product, Optimus G, one of the most awaited products this season which will be powered by Qualcomm’s quad core chip.

Display and graphics

Optimus G utilizes the service of quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro chip. Users can expect impressive graphical performance with this device, thanks to the inclusion of a powerful Adreno 320 GPU. LG has also incorporated a 4.7 inch IPS True HD display using G2 Touch Hybrid Display technology. In this display unit which utilizes a unibody unit, there is no space between the glass and the LCD panel. The display supports a screen resolution of 1280x768 pixels.

Battery and Other Key Features

LG Optimus G also has a highly efficient 2,100 mAh battery which has been developed by LG Chem. The battery lasts up to 800 cycles which is quite impressive considering the 500 cycle’s life span of traditional batteries. The device will feature a 2GB RAM and 32 GB of internal storage capacity. Another notable feature of this device is the 13 mega pixel camera which is capable of taking impressive shots. LG has informed that the device will ship with Android 4.0 as of now. But a future upgrade to Android 4.1 can be expected.

LG plans to release Optimus G in Korea in September with a global release expected to happen later this year. Pricing of the device has not yet been revealed by LG. It will be quite interesting to see how LG manages to provide a more competitive price compared to that of Samsung Galaxy S3.
