LG G Pro 2 Vs Samsung Galaxy S5: Will Big Prices Mean Bigger Presence?
The smartphone business can effectively divided into as many as three distinct parts -- the low-end section, the mid-range section and the high-end section, with a host of devices now being launched that will accomodate either of the three parts.
As you may already know, guessing by the names of the divisions, that while the low-end section and mid-range sections are most sought after as far as the Indian market in concerned, the high-end section is in the wishlist of a fortunate few ready to shell out as much as a new device with hightened specs would cost.

Keeping our focuses fixed on the high-end section of the market for the time being, two new devices that have easily captured the attention of fans in recent times are the Samsung-made Galaxy S5 and the new LG G Pro 2.
While Samsung, as expected, is going for the major part of the market share with the arrival of the new S5 handset, keeping up with the tradition it maintained with the previous offerings in the Galaxy range, LG has high hopes that the G Pro 2 handset will be a major hit.
Nonetheless, these are early days and we still have to wait to find out who does how in the market. However, for the time being let's talk more about both these devices, and also find out how both these fare when put against each other.
Let's take a look at the specs comparison between the Samsung Galaxy S5 and LG G Pro 2.
Operating System
There's hardly anything to choose from in this respect since both the devices come bearing the Google-based Android operating system. Moreover, both of them will be offering Android KitKat straight out of the box.

Display and Dimensions
The LG G Pro 2, in this regard, sports a 5.9-inch True IPS+ LCD capacitive touch screen, while rendering 1080 x 1920 pixels resolution. The device's overall dimensions measure up to 157.9 x 81.9 x 8.3 mm, and weighs in at 172 grams.
The Samsung Galaxy S5, comparatively, comes with a slightly lesser 5.1-inch Super AMOLED capacitive touch screen, while rendering 1080 x 1920 pixels resolution. The device's overall dimensions measure up to 142 x 72.5 x 8.1 mm, with the device also being comparatively lighter, weighing in at just 145 grams.
Camera
The LG G Pro 2, in the camera department, offers a 13-megapixel primary camera, sporting a mammoth pixel resolution of 4208 x 3120 pixels, with autofocus and LED flash. The device also has a secondary 2.1-megapixel camera on board that's more than enough for conducting video chats.
The Samsung Galaxy S5, on the other hand, sports a primary 16-megapixel camera, sporting a pixel resolution of 5312 x 2988 pixels, with autofocus and LED flash. The device also has a secondary 2-megapixel camera on board.
Processing Power
No surprises here since both the devices, being next gen handsets as they are, come offering powerful engines under the hood that are far more capable than just efficiently running the devices.
While the LG G Pro 2 is equipped with a 2.26 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, its Samsung counterpart powers up the Galaxy S5 via a octa core processor Adonis Prime2 (Quad 1.9GHz + Quad 1.3GHz) + XMM6360.
Battery
While the LG G Pro 2 juices up the Android KitKat-powered device via a big 3200 mAh battery, the Samsung Galaxy S5 comes sporting a slightly lesser 2800 mAh battery.

Price
While the Samsung Galaxy S5 has already been made available online for a price tag of Rs. 47,499, its LG counterpart has priced the G Pro 2 handset at Rs. 49,890.
Verdict
Putting up a comparison between two devices so as to guess who will take the lead over whom isn't really a simple task, and more so because the future is always changing with all the permutations and combinations shifting poles all the time.
However, if seen from a very practical point of view, it can be somewhat guessed that Samsung will keep enjoying its ever growing market shares, and will do the same with the new S5 offering.
And as far as LG is concerned, truthfully speaking, it might still have to wait a bit more before it starts running in the same herd as that of Samsung. The G Pro 2 may be a great initiative to achieve just that, but it may still be not enough when compared with the S5.
