This September the tussle between three big ticket smartphone vendors: Samsung, Sony and LG gets murkier. Three of the biggest handset manufacturers are ready to bring their most ambitious devices in the Indian market. Samsung and Sony have already announced that they would announce their respective monster phones in India early this month, whereas LG is yet to confirm the launch of G2. We're familiar with leaked retail pricing of a device ahead of anticipated launch.
This time around an online shopping retailer Saholic is the reason behind leaked retail price of LG G2. Saholic has listed LG G2 under "Coming soon "tag for quite some time. A closer look at the HTML code of the page shows that the "32GB variant" of "LG G2 will cost Rs. 45,000." Being a premium phone, LG G2 will cost at par with iPhone 5 in the Indian market. We had earlier reported that LG G2 could be announced in India in the last week of September or first week of October. Looks like, LG is finally in a mood to announce G2 sometime this month.
The question now arises: Are we ready to pay Rs. 45,000 on a high-end device? We have already seen that the Cupertino giant Apple failed to sell enough iPhone 5 due to astronomical retail price. Same can be said about BlackBerry, whose last devices - BlackBerry Z10 and Q10 didn't click with Indian users. It is learnt that Samsung Galaxy Note 3 to cost Rs. 47,900 for 32GB version.
LG G2 - Highlighted Specifications
LG has already started promoting G2 via its official Facebook and Twitter page. The device packs a 5.2-inch Full HD IPS Super LCD2 display having resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels at 443 ppi. It is powered by a 2.26GHz quad-core processor powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chipset coupled with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal memory (non -expandable).
Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean comes out of the box. There's a 13-mega pixel rear facing camera sensor covered with scratch less material for protection. Also add a 2.1-mega pixel front facing camera. The main highlight of the rear camera is the coming of Optical image stabilization (OIS) feature with Auto Focus and LED Flashlight.
The phone is ultra-slim at 8.99 mm thick. The device supports 4G LTE-Advanced connectivity. The makers have added a 3000mAh Li Ion battery.
