Few hours from now, the South Korean giant will announce its new flagship device - G2 in New York City. Just before the big reveal, the first press render of supposed LG G2 have made its way to web. The leak was made via Twitter sensation @evleaks.
The alleged press shot is in line with multiple-reports. On the front side, the LG G2 will have a 5.2-inch FHD display and thin bezel design. The phone is made of plastic like Optimus G Pro. Three capacitive Android buttons, a front facing camera and speaker grill, have been placed on the front panel. On the rear back, you will notice volume rocker button beneath a rear-mounted camera. In between- volume buttons is an unusual shiny thing. Some believe that it is nothing, but a fingerprint sensor at the rear back.
Earlier also it was said that the handset could have some sort of security arrangement. Pantech, a popular smartphone vendor in South Korea has launched a Full HD phone with fingerprint sensor placed at the rear back. Pantech announced Vega LTE-A IM-A880S ahead of LG G2 global announcement. Even iPhone 5S is said to have a fingerprint sensor placed somewhere on the front panel.
Meanwhile, LG G2 is reportedly arriving in South Korea on August 8, followed by US and European launch in September 2013. "Our vision is to make LG's newest G devices synonymous with excellence, raising the bar even further for the ultimate in user experience," said Dr. Jong-seok Park, president and CEO of LG Mobile. "The new G2 will build upon the excellent reputation established by previous G Series products."
LG G2 was initially speculated to feature Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, which is official now. However, it is not clear whether the G2 comes with 3GB or 2GB RAM embedded inside. The rear camera is set to be great, a 13-mega pixel shooter with HDR recording facility and Full HD 1080p video recorder. Talking about the front facing camera, it is speculated to have a 5-mega pixel sensor.
Recently, the manual related to LG G2 was leaked. So, more details have arrived ahead of global announcement. The device will use the new SIM size. As per the leaked manual, the G2 measures 138.5mm x 70.9mm x 8.9mm and weighs 143grams. The LG G2 will arrive with a 5.2-inch Full HD display. LG Display: a subsidiary of LG Electronics, announced the world's slimmest Full HD panel for smartphones. The 5.2-inch display will ultimately mark the coming of ultra slim Full HD phones. LG Display ( via official press release) says the brightness of this panel stands at 535nits at maximum, and easily trounced other Full HD panels available at the moment. Not only that, this Full HD LCD panel is the slimmest and narrowest among current crop of displays. Sources close to the Wall Street Journal believe that LG will indeed use a 5.2-inch display having of resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels.
On June 19, Qualcomm inked a deal with South Korean LG electronics. It was revealed that LG may come up with G series. Also, the first handset under G series will be seen using Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor. Here is an excerpt from official press release published in Qualcomm website.

The leaked manual did not mention about fingerprint sensor, however, the suspense around shiny button beneath camera sensor, is still there in the mind of consumers.
The camera is said to have a 13-mega pixel shooter fitted on the rear back. It is said to be high on imaging technology. Is LG prepping to take on Sony Honami i1? Only time will tell.
It is not clear, when LG is going to launch G2 in the Indian market. But globally, we see LG G2 coming to US and select European market in September. So expect October launch , as far India is concerned.
