LG G3 Launch Date Officially Set For May 27
Just a day back, South Korean giant LG announced that its forthcoming G3 handset will probably be launched in the second quarter of 2014. Well the good news is that LG has already started sending out the official invites for the launch event on May 27 in San Francisco, New York and London simultaneously. Also Singapore, Seoul and Istanbul will follow next, claims a report from The Verge. The South Korean company has scheduled events in six countries across the world on May 27 and May 28.
LG G3- Press Invite
The invite says it all as it reveals that the announcement will largely focus on the LG G3. LG already stated that the G3 will be introduced in the second quarter of this year. The press invitation seems to have been inspired from the forthcoming handset. The dark metal finish color in the background on the invite, allegedly reveals that the company using a new premium material.
Generally, LG-made phones come encased in plastic chassis, which isn't a bad thing but now consumers are eagerly waiting for big change. Furthermore, the teaser image reads," To be simple is to be Great" that should be linked with the handset's updated UI, design and especially build quality.
LG G3- What to expect?
LG G3 has been detailed in many reports since the beginning of this year. The rumored LG G3 will be a premium device with a 2,560 x 1,440 display. The exact screen size is unknown, but if gossip mongers are to be believed the G3 may have a massive 5.5-inch display. The LG G3 will offer sharper display and beefier processor.
The G3 would also be powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor coupled with 3GB of RAM and at least 16GB of on-board storage. Moreover, the phone could adopt a brushed aluminum chassis, instead of a regular polycarbonate plastic body. The device is also said to come with a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera with OIS + feature.
The biggest highlight of the G3 could be its updated 'flat' Optimus UI. The LG G3 is expected to be made available in Golden color, besides regular color options. Also, LG G3 may follow Samsung and Sony with the waterproof body.
LG needs to establish itself as a major smartphone player with a solid marketing plan, which the company currently lacks when being compared to Samsung or Apple. But it is the new flagship G3 that the company hopes will help it re-establish itself as a real challenger to market leaders Samsung and Apple. Stay tuned to GizBot for more updates!
