LG launches Optimus L5 2 Single SIM at Rs 10995: 5 Desi Rivals Likely to Compete

LG India has recently started selling the single SIM variant of Optimus L5 2 in India at the price of Rs. 10,499 while the previously launched L5 2 with dual SIM support was launched at Rs. 11,499. The optimus L5 2 with a single SIM can now be purchased from various Indian e-retailers like Snapdeal, India Times Shopping and Home Shop 18 for Rs.10,499, exactly Rs. 1,000 less than its dual-SIM variant (E455) which is priced Rs. 11,499 at various e-shops.

The single-SIM Optimus L5-2 variant features similar specifications to that of its older dual-SIM version. New Optimus L5 2 sports a 4.0-inch IPS WVGA screen with 800x480p display resolution. The latest LG smartphone runs on the Android mobile OS v4.1.2 Jelly Bean platform powered by a 1GHz single-core processor and backed by 512MB RAM.

Optimus L5 2 comes with a 5MP rear camera with LED flash and doesn't have a front facing camera. However the camera also houses Cheese Shutter function which helps users to capture pictures via voice commands.

Regarding connectivity, the Optimus L5 2 has USB 2.0, Wi-Fi direct, Bluetooth 3.0 & A-GPS,3G, GPRS and EDGE. Optimus L5 2 with a single SIM comes witht the 4GB internal storage capacity which can expanded up to 32GB via microSD card. The latest LG Optimus L5 2 is powered by 1700mAh battery.

Other feature include LG Mobile TV which enables you to watch more than 50 live TV channels. You will also fall in love with the performance of the 1700mAh batterywhich keep you in action for continuous hours. LG Mobile TV,Cheese Shutter, Safety Care, Quick Button, Advance Quick Memo.

Optimus L5 2 sports a different design than Optimus L5 2 dual on the lines of other models in the company's smartphone line-up. Optimus L5 2 with a single SIM are available in two color variants viz. White and Black.

The latest LG Optimus L5 2 may have a strong competition with various other devices mostly Karbonn Titanium S5, which features a quad core processor while falling in the same price range with just Rs 1000 more. Yet others are there which can make competition tougher for LG Optimus L5 2. Here are other likely opponents to single SIM LG Optimus L5 2: Xolo Q700, Sony Xperia E, Intex Aqua 5.0 and Karbonn Titanium S1 another quad core device.

Sony Xperia E

Sony Xperia E comes with a 3.5 inch touchscreen display with 320 x 480 pixel resolution, 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM7227A processor, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS, 512MB RAM, 4GB internal storage, micro SD card slot supporting up to 32GB additional storage, 3.2MP rear camera, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and a 1,530 mAh.
The device is priced at Rs. 10,490. This device has a similar pricing and resembles the same specifications.

Intex Aqua 5.0

Intex Aqua 5.0 comes at Rs. 9,999.
Speaking of specs, Aqua 5.0 flaunts a 5 inch multi-touch capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels, dual core 1GHz processor, Android 4.0 ICS OS, 5MP rear camera, 1.3MP front camera for video calling, 4GB internal memory, 512MB RAM, micro SD card slot supporting up to 32GB additional memory, Wi-Fi, 3G, Bluetooth 2.0 and GPS and a 2,000 mAh battery.
Again, with a lesser price tag and better front camera, the Intex phablet could be a stiff competitor for the LG Optimus L5 2.

Xolo Q700

Xolo Q700 comes with a 4.5 inch IPS qHD capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 960 x 540 pixels and 245 ppi pixel density, 1.2GHz quad-core MediaTek processor, 238 MHz PowerVR SGX544 GPU, Android 4.2 Jelly Bean OS, dual SIM support, 5MP rear camera with LED Flash, BSI sensor and 720p HD video recording, VGA front camera, 1GB RAM, 4GB internal memory, 32GB expandable memory with micro SD, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0, GPS and a 2,400 mAh battery.
This device is priced at Rs. 9,999. This device is another quad core device which has a lesser pricing than LG Optimus L5 2 with a single SIM.

Karbonn Titanium S1

Titanium S1 features a 4.5 inch qHD multi-touch capacitive touchscreen display with 960 x 540 pixel resolution, 1.2GHz quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 1GB RAM, 4GB internal storage, micro SD card slot, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS, 5MP rear camera, VGA front camera, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and a 1,600 mAh battery. The smartphone is priced at Rs. 10,290.
Again this one has the same quad core proicessor and a greater RAM. This may also be a safer buy.

Karbonn Titanium S5

Detailing on the specs, Titanium S5 boasts a 5 inch qHD multi-touch capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 960 x 540 pixels, 1.2GHz quad core processor, 1GB RAM, micro SD card slot, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS, 8MP rear camera, 2MP front camera, Wi-Fi, 3G, Bluetooth and a 2,000 mAh battery. As of now, there is no word on the internal storage support, but it is expected to be around 4GB as in other budget phablets.
The smartphone is priced at Rs 11,990 price. Being a quad core smartphone this device definitely has the upperhand when it comes to comparing it to LG Optimus L5 2.
